Wonderful team!! it was a very smooth move-in and move-out process. The space was clean and temperature controlled. The outside grounds were kept clean and tidy. I appreciate all of the work the team puts into the grounds and customer service! ... Read more

For the most part, the experience was good. In the process of moving, we rented a single unit to help transition between houses. The first unit was fairly clean, and what you would expect. As we got closer to our move date, we rented a second unit to ensure we were out of our previous house on time. This is a picture of the second unit we received. Some type of chalk or powder was all over the floor. This picture was also after we had cleaned up broken plastic as well. We sent a picture to the staff so 1, we would not be charged for damages, and 2, thinking it would be cleaned. There was not much of response. I ended up cleaning it out because whatever the substance was, stained anything it touched. All in all, I would use them again, however, would check the unit prior to payment. ... Read more

Unfortunately our experience with this company has not been positive. Those working in the office have always been pleasant but it is quite obvious that each customer is a number often routed to a call center to report/discuss any issues. Part of the reason we selected this facility was due to the gated entry. However on several occasions the gate was not operating properly and you could get in anytime by pushing any of the buttons. This remained the case for 2 weeks. We reported it twice. When we began our moving process and moved items from the storage unit we received a phone call because our padlock was no longer there. My husband advised we had just moved things out in our moving process and he was told if it were empty that they had customers waiting for a unit and would like to rent it out. We had already paid for the entire month so my husband said that’s fine as long as those days left in the month are prorated back to us to which he received the reply “we don’t do that.” Are you kidding? So they are going to rent it out in the middle of the month, charge that person and then keep our payment for the whole month?!?! Needless to say we dropped by, put a padlock on the door and will be sure to keep it until the end of the month since we have paid for it. I feel there is a real lack of concern for the customer experience at this facility. I would not use this business again. ... Read more

When I retired after more than three decades as a professor, I packed up more than 100 boxes of books and papers. Not wanting to turn my home into a candidate for the TV show “Hoarders,” I rented a locker here and have visited off-and-on since then to bring home boxes. I finally emptied out the locker and closed the account. During the more than two years that I had it, my experiences waith management we're totally positive and my satisfaction with the arrangement could not have been higher. I highly recommend this for those who need a place to store non-perishable materials for a period of time. ... Read more

Reliable, convenient and A+ customer service! I needed a small climate-controlled unit to store a few things for just a few weeks. Autumn had just what I needed, when I needed it, at a great price, and was very helpful all the way to the end of my lease. She walked me to the unit when I was checking in and thoroughly explained all I needed to know. The unit was very clean, and there was even flat-bed handtruck for getting things in and out. My things were as clean when I took them out as when I moved them in. Also in a convenient location! Very friendly and accommodating! ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at North Charlottesville Self Storage - 3466 Seminole Trail include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, 24 hour access, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted and Online Payment. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 400 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by North Charlottesville Self Storage - 3466 Seminole Trail start from $90 and can go up to $534 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
