    What a horrible business. Stated hours don’t mean much, they’re there when they’re there. The gate may or may not work. Forget ever getting them on the phone. And expect them to jack up the rent without providing any prior notice. By more than 50%. Oh, and they’ll add insurance that you never requested. And of course, they don’t tell you in advance.     I’ve been renting an outdoor spot for my trailer from Air and Space storage for more than a year, almost 2, Rent kept getting increased what seems like every 6 months but I thought it was normal, and this location was somewhat convenient for me. Unfortunately my trailer was vandalized a few times and someone urinated and defecated right next to my trailer (I have photos!!) but management tried to stay on top of it and at least attempted to correct the vandalism. Recently I think management has changed because no one seems to be available or working at this location because I needed to speak to someone on the phone about getting a bigger spot or maybe an enclosed unit. 2 weeks ago I started calling and it took several days for someone to call me back. This week it has been 5 business days since I have been calling their main number leaving several messages and still no call back, and even though I’m calling during business hours the answering system states that I’m calling outside business hours and to leave a message. I never received a call back……. Until a few minutes ago, after complaining to corporate. I had to cancel, it’s unprofessional not to answer calls or communicate with your clients, I wanted to give you more business.     I had the pleasure of speaking to Ed today in order to fix a payment and to see what would be my options in order to get a bigger or smaller unit. He explained in full detail what the difference in pricing was and when rent would be due.I am extremely happy with the customer support service that Ed has and will always give me. Ed is very helpful and extremely insightful for today to help me make a better option for my needs. Ever since Ed has left this company has not been the same. Once Ed left for what ever the reason may be, I have been dissatisfied about how this company has been operating, for example today at 11:13am the sign says the person will be back at 9:30 in the morning but no one is at this storage and I am not able to pay my storage bill today. This is starting to irritate me since of poor customer service and both gates are open. I shouldn’t have to pay a 5 dollar fee in Order to pay my storage when the gates keep breaking down and the storage isn’t up to my standers. I have a business relationship with this storage unit and I’m about to go some where else if these problems keep arising. Again I shouldn’t have to pay an extra 5 dollars to pay online for my units I have with Air N Space storage as of today. I am not okay with paying for poor services and a company that doesn’t care for their customers time and inconvenience. If things do not chance I will take my business somewhere else.     Soly helped me get moved into my new unit. She was friendly and courteous as she greeted me after I walked in. There were a few hiccups dealing with customer service over the phone.     Since my review, the best manager Air N' Space had ever had (Ed) was removed for no good reason. Policies have been changed, like pre-payment reduced to six months and no free months anymore. I was then required to add Air N' Space to our insurance policy. There was also confusion about my prepayment that required me to come in to resolve it. Facility is good, but when the fence breaks again, I won't wait six months for them to fix it. Original Review: I have been at Air & Space Self Storage for several years. Prior to this I had units at several other storage companies in Fairfax. The other locations would significantly raise my rental rate within 3 months of renting the units, and every 4 to 6 months afterwards. Other facilities would not repair doors, lighting and other core responsibilities. Air & Space Storage offer move in discounts and provide long term rentals. They are flexible with switching units when we’ve needed to upgrade. The site manager, Ed Kent, has been incredibly helpful working to get the best units for our needs. He’s quick to take care of issues. We love his energy he brings to the facility. I appreciate the cleanliness of the move in units, the building and driveways I am disappointed that the company did get rid of the text messaging relay for the staff. Previously I was able to let them know when a door was open, lights were out, and other urgent things while on the property. Email is not the same as text messaging. The inside units are not as tall as we would like them to be. The wire ‘ceiling’ is only about 8 ft high, but there’s wasted space several feet above the wire. Naturally this would be a significant upgrade expense for the unit, so I understand them not being able to change this. ... Read more

    I have rented a unit twice, at this location, and each time that I did, I have never encountered any issues. Edward and his crew do a fantastic job with this location. Very friendly and always willing to answer questions and just assist you in general. You can tell they work hard and take pride in keeping this location clean and looking good. If you are looking for a storage unit just for a month or even a year, please do not hesitate to get one from here. Talk to Edward or his staff and they will hook you up.     *** Update as of September 2022, the exit security gate is still broken and left up all the time for anyone to enter the facility without a code. While rental fees have gone way up in the last few months, the roll up door is still broken and often left open for both people and rodents to enter the facility. The management (Bobby) is terrible -- very rude to customers, relatives sit smoking on lawn chairs in front of the office, and worst of all he does not do the most basic job which is keeping the place up! This used to be a good facility, and the current management is doing a horrible job at maintaining it. Reaching out to (855) 644-PLUS did not result in any improvement in the situation by the way as the situation is even worse three months later. *** I am a long term customer at this facility and maintenance of the place has gone downhill in the past year. The exit security gate is often broken and left up so anyone can come in, the roll up door near my unit has been broken for months. The floors are dirty — I have seen the same trash on the ground every time I come. I can’t stand coming to my unit because often heavy metal music is blasting on the intercom. Management does not seem to care about keeping the place up. Past managers of the facility used to take pride in running the facility well but currently I would not recommend this place. ...     I was a customer at Air and Space self storage from August 2018 until September 2021. Amazing customer service; Adrian and his team always provided clear and timely communication and were responsive to inquiries. Additionally, the facility was formerly a brewery so not only is it temperature controlled but unlike other local climate controlled storage, Air and Space self storage has low humidity; ideal for individuals storing high value metallic objects or items that can develop rust or corrosion. In the 3 years I had metallic items stored here, no rusting occurred. Why 3 stars? The primary reason for a mediocre rating and my departure was that the exit gate has been broken for 6 months (as of September 2021). While I recognize this can be expensive to fix for a business, it’s the only layer of security between the street and the items in your unit (based on the layout and design of the facility). For some customers, this may not be a big deal, but I prefer a facility that had a little more standoff and security. I’m sure corporate just doesn’t want to incur the likely 5 figure repair/replacement cost; a fair decision that I respect. However, the lack of action has cost them my continued business. This is a great facility and I hope to come back in the future if repairs are made and ongoing maintenance costs do not deter the owners from necessary upkeep. ... Read more
