I have been at this storage facility since 2021. They are under new ownership and they are charging me all kinds of unnecessary charges, they are making it impossible for me to pay my for my units. I am on a fixed income and they are charging me unnecessary and excessive late fees. They have added insurance and several different maintenance fees I have never heard of. When I can afford it, I'll be moving my furniture. ... Read more

Edit: I got in touch with Lindsay today and she was super helpful. She got me a refund and even offered me extra goodies for next time I need a unit. Thank you Lindsay. Perplexed and Angry! I had an emergency this weekend and I needed storage space so I rented one online here. When I showed up to put all my stuff in my new locker it turned out to be locked. We called support and they acted like I didn’t exist in the system even though it CHARGED ME. He told me he couldn’t do anything until the next business day. So I asked for a refund and he told me the same thing. As of this moment I have no storage unit and I’m out 70ish dollars. The funny part for me is the automatic email they’ve sent me asking for a review on my new unit instead of anything related to my refund. So here you go. ... Read more

I've had a storage unit at the Commonwealth Ave. location for about 6 months. Early in January I called the management office to make them aware that the front security gate of property was open and not operational. I was told it would be fixed within the week. Fast forward to mid February. I phoned management again. I was told they were having problems getting vendor to schedule maintenance. I let them know I wasn't happy that my unit and belongings were less secure than I promised and was paying for. ($167 per month). I was told by the phone representative, " If you are not satisfied, you can move your stuff." I'm paraphrasing. So that's what I did. A few weeks later I received a call from someone claiming to be a district manager. He was very apologetic and said that's not how we do business and was working solve the mechanical issue , as well as, customer service issue. I told him that's great and then I said, mistakes happen. It's what you do next that makes all difference. (I paraphrase again.) It's now been over a month later. I happen to be driving by the storage area and you guessed it. The gate is still not fixed. Lip service is not a substitute for security and customer service. This is a cautionary tale for your property and your wallet. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Mini Mall Storage - 818 Commonwealth Avenue include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Unstaffed Location, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, First Floor Access and Online Payment. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 50 to 300 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Mini Mall Storage - 818 Commonwealth Avenue start from $50 and can go up to $218 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
