Read some helpful reviews of Self Storage Plus at 605 South Ball Street, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

Wow! The front desk person, Gail, is hands down the nicest person you will ever meet. She took the time to tour the facility with me, explain the enter/exit procedures, tested to make sure my code worked, and really went out of her way to provide a remarkable experience. I chose this place because of previous reviews of Gail. I am happy I chose this facility. ... Read more

No one was available in the office and sign on the door said returning at 2pm. I called their number and the office confirmed they would be back then/ to call if there was an issue. Returned at 2pm and sign was updated for 30min later. Call center would not pick up. Not a great customer experience. ... Read more

I want to take the time to thank Gail for helping me with my unit. She is super nice and patient with me. She helped me set up my account. When I had trouble signing my documents she helped with that too, which was immensely helpful because I was getting super frustrated and I didn't understand why my phone didn't work. When I was thirsty she even offered her own water. It really saved my day because it was so cold and I didn't want to walk out to find a convenient store. Thank you Gail for your time, patience and support. I know I could always rely on you! ... Read more

I would have loved to give this facility 5 stars, but unfortunately I have been left with a sour taste in my mouth. I will be honest, and say that the facility is very clean and well maintained. Access is pretty easy. I had no issue with the facility or the staff on site. Under the right circumstances, I would still be storing there. My problem, which I am sure I will not be the first or the last person to experience this, is how often and by how much they raise their prices in short spaces of time. The Pentagon City area population is growing fast, and a lot of the apartments do not offer storage, and so these facilities have really sought to capitalize on the demand. I rented a 5x5 unit in Feb 2023. It cost $109. Expensive, but doable. By about the summer or early fall of 2023, it went up to $120+. This year (2024), “in order to maintain competitive rates”, my rate went from $120+ to $172 (DID I MENTION IT IS A SMALL 5x5 unit?!) just before the summer time. And if that wasn’t enough, they decided to increase again next month from $172 to $193! So, I left. This greed is sickening, and I’m sure they will stay in business because of their location, but these practices should not be encouraged or supported. Maleah did advise when I first got the unit that it may be helpful to pay for a longer period in advance because the rates could change at any time, but not everyone can fork out a few thousand dollars all at once for storage. So, in summary, convenient, nice storage location, but not for long stays, unless you don’t mind 3-4 price increases in less than 2yrs. ... Read more

Meleah was fantastic! Super easy to set up a unit and very helpful and kind. Highly recommend! EDIT- the facilities are well maintained and clean, just beware that your rent can and will change at the management’s discretion at any time. My rent increased quite a bit after about 5 months of renting. ... Read more

Gale and Malia are the best. Very convenient, friendly and helpful. I needed two units for work and at first they did not have two units next to each other. Malia was able to move a unit around for me and give me two side by side for my convenience. It was a pleasure working with them. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Self Storage Plus - 605 South Ball Street include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Truck Rentals, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Elevators, First Floor Access, Multi-Level Storage, Online Payment and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 20 to 250 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Self Storage Plus - 605 South Ball Street start from $110 and can go up to $897 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
