Love the location and secure access, the storage grounds and units are all kept up an cleaned, hours of operation are Monday thru Friday 9 am to 6 pm and Saturday 9 am to 4 pm with access to the storage units 7 days a week 9 am to 9 pm. There's 410 units on site. They have a ten foot wall surrounding the property a computerized video camera gate system with drive up access. Individual alarms with surveillance controls and monthly pest control. There is on site managers who live on the property an who are the best storage unit managers you can ask for you can tell they care about their customers an have made our rental experience a really good one my wife an I could tell they really cared about us an showed actual concern when we were late or behind on our rent. Would totally recommend this facility to anyone looking for storage units. ... Read more

I stored my stuff here for nearly a year, and during that time my storage locker got broken into when I was out of town. Contrary to their claim the units are not individually alarmed, and the security cameras do not record! The lock that they sold me did not work and we never figured out how the criminals broke in -- there were no signs of forced entry or of sawing off the lock! The break-in occurred during a period of time when new onsite managers were hired, so I wonder if it was an inside job by the couple that formerly lived on site to manage the facility. We'll never know because there was no video footage and no alarm went off! Advice: when you do select a storage facility, follow-up to ensure that their security claims work -- e.g. test out the individual alarm, ensure that the video cameras work by having them show you the screens and the fact the video is being recorded, etc. ... I will have to agree with Kiki (although not so strongly). This is a perfectly adequate storage place but the woman who runs it is unpleasant to deal with. There have been a few occasions where we have needed her help (most recently having the gate lock us IN despite it not being near closing time). If we are able to find her, she always acts like it really isn't her problem we are ruining her day. Clean, secure storage is not hard to find so I'd recommend going somewhere else. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Elite Storage - 440 West 1700 South include the following amenities: Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Security Camera, Gate and Credit Cards Accepted. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
