I rented a 5x10 unit for over three years. The facility will get very dusty, it is located directly adjacent a concrete plant. Be sure to cover anything you don’t want plastered in dust. They also won’t let you use their bathroom onsite, so be sure to plan ahead as you’re loading/unloading/visiting your storage unit. The guy at the desk did help me cut my lock and lent me a broom to sweep my unit when i moved out, so he’s nice enough until you ask to use his bathroom. ... Read more

Went to clear out our storage unit this past weekend (Saturday), when doing so there were snow and ice all around our unit. When we came back to give our keys (Wednesday), there was even more snow, about 4 inches. The property manager alone gets 5 stars, as he was out in a GOLF CART plowing the snow. DEFINETLY need better equipment in order to keep it a safe area to be able to access storage units. ... Read more

Great little storage place. Clean units, friendly service. Someone is almost always in the office if you have questions. They have great deals when you sign up. A bathroom is a plus for days when you're working there for hours. Security is tight. They even buzz around in their golf card and check on everyone in the lot. The only thing we didn't like was the price went up but they have to stay in business so we understand. ... Read more

Great customer service, friendly and helpful! I was looking for a storage unit at the last minute and Bethany got us into one in 30 minutes, from first phone call to leasing the unit. This place is very clean. Shout out to Alexis, as well, who was being trained for the front office and will be a great addition! ... Read more

When I first called, Kelsey was helpful and told me about a special they were running for a 10x20 storage unit at $100. It was the best price in town. We recently lost our job and had to move unexpectedly into a condo half the size of the home we moved out of. Kelsey was kind and considerate when we arrived after an extremely long day of driving 600 miles. We paid and left. The following month, we called and made our payment, but only one unit was charged. My husband called back to pay for the other unit another person (Stephanie) said our unit was $148.50. We asked her about the discrepancy, she said she’d get back to us. We never got a call back, but stopped in the office the next day as we needed some things from storage. The manager (Stephanie?) was there and immediately was on guard and flustered. She tried to explain the discrepancy as well as the failure to prorate our first month, as we didn’t move our things in on the first day of the month. The math didn't add up and I asked my husband to come help figure it out. Stephanie was extremely rude, treating me like a child. I stopped talking as she repeatedly told me to stop interrupting. After I stopped to hear her out, she looked at me like a mom looks at their child as if to say, “are you going to talk or should you just go outside?” I’ve never been treated that way by any company and in all my years working in customer service I wouldn’t dream of acting that way behind the counter. Too bad they have all of our stuff. They then tried to get us to sign a new contract several times to change our prices, by email. They just sent an email notice that our prices will go up $40 on each unit. They’ve been charging my card every month even though I didn’t sign an EFT permission form because I opted to pay month to month. It was a bait and switch for sure. Now we get a call center answering and taking messages for them, we can’t get a hold of anyone. Would not recommend this place based on our downhill experience after moving all our stuff in. ... Me and my family have been using Blue Ribbon Storage since 2003. They are excellently priced, in a great location, and the property is taken care of. However, their employees are the best part. I am always pleased by their dedication to customer service and making sure I am very happy. The manager named Liberty is so nice, friendly, and helpful. I couldn't imagine anyone that could do a better job than her. I came in today to see if I could get a larger unit than the one I already had. She was able to show me the different units available, help me pick the right one, and was very quick to complete the paperwork. She is wonderful and is a great example of a manager. As long as I have a need for storage I will certainly be at Blue Ribbon. And I will gladly refer all my friends to them as well without hesitating. ... Read more

It was super quick and easy to get a storage unit to assist with our move. We first booked the size we wanted, then off to fill out paperwork to finalize the storage unit. The guy at the desk was super helpful and let us know of prepayment discounts, as well as an active military discount that I could use after the prepayment discount. He walked us through getting in and out to our unit, and allowed us to move stuff in that same day. The storage unit was freshly swept when we opened it and there were video camera throughout the complex. Great experience so far. I would highly recommend. ... Read more

Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 50 to 300 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Blue Ribbon Storage - 502 West 700 South start from $68 and can go up to $268 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
