I used this location for a U-Haul rental. I received confirmation that my truck was booked/reserved and then spoke on the phone the week of my move to confirm everything. When I arrived to pick up the truck they said there was nothing in their system, and they called U-Haul who said they moved my reservation to another location. They never notified me and said they had called and left me a voicemail which is a lie. I've used U-Haul in the past but will never use them or this location again based on how bad the experience was. ... Read more

I used this business for the rental of a Uhaul moving truck. The gentleman in the office on 9/29/2020 was great and very helpful. The female front desk attendant working Saturday morning 10/3/2020, Casey Brown, was very rude and not accommodating at all. Did not take the time to understand the customer issues or concerns and was very harsh on the phone. Two different staff gave two different instructions on extending the use of a uhaul truck. I will not use this facility again. ... Read more

The lady at the desk was nice, but the reservation process was difficult. I was prompted to use self-checkout, which I agreed to. At check-out, I was not told to check my SMS messages for a check-out message. The ramp on the truck was broken. The gate was hard to open and close. Nobody answered the phone when I tried calling at 3 different times during business hours. I left messages, nobody called me back. I was not told to check the equipment back in online, so I was charged twice as much as I expected to pay. I'm never using U-haul again, and I'll be asking for a refund. ... Read more

I have been renting from State Street storage for going on two years now and have several units. They are WONDERFUL! They are kind, helpful and personable. They always accommodate my needs and have boxes and supplies when I need them. They keep it clean! A previous reviewer said there are homeless people living there. This is absolutely not true! I am there almost every day getting stuff in and out of my unit, for hours and there are zero homeless people living there. These folks really care about security. I have always felt that my items were safe. There are numerous cameras and you need codes to get inside the premises after they leave and codes to get into the building at all hours. The locks on the units are impossible to breach. There are ZERO bugs (a problem I had with outdoor storage). Climate control is fantastic too! I will keep renting for as long as I need to. Thanks, guys! ... Read more

Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 400 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by State Street Storage - 1640 North State Street start from $55 and can go up to $280 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
