Avoid this place. It’s a disaster. They increased our monthly payment without informing us. Our unit was broken in to and items were stolen. This place has ZERO security and customer service is deplorable. They don’t maintain their units and some of our items were ruined due to water damage. So glad we got our stuff out of there and moved it to Towne Storage on Redwood Rd (Google them). Towne Storage has security and staff who actually cares. I wish I had the option to give Beehive a negative star instead of one star. ... Read more

I'm a fairly new renter and I appreciate Karla and David helping me get rented. The unit I have is perfect and I have yet to have any issues. Also to those of you posting about break-ins you're pretty much announcing to robbers it's free range and encouraging people to come break in. Sometimes not announcing that helps the business. ?? Nevertheless, I love this place and their recommendation of a round lock has been really helpful. They're always so nice and offer to help out. ... Read more

The managers are super nice and helpful. The facility is always very well maintained. I have never had any issues. Any questions I've had have been answered promptly and so i understood. The husband manager is very outgoing and always down to have a good conversation, and the wife is very sweet, and friendly always ready with a smile. 10 out of 10 would recommend. ... Read more

THEY RIPPED ME OFF FOR ALMOST $1,000.00 DON'T RENT HERE!!! I had a unit for around 5 years and paid my rent on time without exception. (Unit H11 if the owners are reading this). About two years after I started, they raised the rent on me (which is fine). I started making the new payments and did not realize I was over paying each time. For some reason I was confused about the new payment amount. I went on like this for a couple more years (over paying) my monthly dues. Nobody sent me a statement, a refund check, or anything else. I had no idea I was over paying until I moved out. The day I was moving out, I checked in with the site attendant. It was then that he informed me that my account had a credit of around nine hundred and something dollars. He gave me a printed off ledger and told me the main office would be cutting me a check for the amount I had been over paying. I thought this was good news and felt a little stupid for having over paid all those years, but was happy to be getting an unexpected check! Weeks turned into months. I never saw a check. I called the site attendants office multiple times and was told there was nothing they could do. I asked for the number to the main office so I could contact accounts payable directly and they told me they were under instruction to NEVER give out the main office number to any renters. This seemed odd and somewhat shady. To the owners of this establishment. You have my name, you know my unit number and your records will clearly show you owe me this money. Please send me a check and I will retract or update this review. What's right is right! You can't rip people off like this and expect to not hear about it! ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Beehive Storage - 12519 South Minuteman Drive include the following amenities: Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
