Read some helpful reviews of MyPlace Self Storage at 253 Brookdale Road, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

Was a great facility until the new owners took over, and it has already jacked the.Rent three times in the past 2 to 3 months i think the owners need to stay in California where they belong. I highly do not recommend we'll be pulling all my stuff from there shortly. If you buy a place and can't afford it, you shouldn't take it out on the people renting from you. Have you ever heard? Don't bite the hand that feeds you. ... Read more

Possibly the best storage facility I've ever used. Clean, secure, wide open parking lot makes it easy to maneuver in, and the price is fantastic. It doesn't hurt that Amy is a genuinely great human being who will work with you to ensure your rental is the best you've ever used. Legit solid recommendation for everyone. ... Read more

I’ve been a customer here for 7–8 years, back when this facility was locally owned and known as Brookdale. Under the previous owners, loyalty and community actually mattered. While prices for out-of-area customers sometimes increased, locals were not repeatedly upcharged, and long-term renters were respected. During all those years, my rate never increased once. Since Brookdale was sold and rebranded as MyPlace Storage, the experience has gone downhill fast. Over the past year, prices have steadily increased, and management has openly stated that these increases will continue every single year because they “treat all customers equally.” In their words, there is no seniority, no loyalty, and no credit for being a long-time or local customer. What truly sealed it for me was the condescending, borderline disrespectful behavior from management. When I questioned the increases, a manager literally pulled out a calculator, shoved it in my face, and said, “You’re actually paying X amount less than new customers,” as if that somehow justified constant yearly increases or erased nearly a decade of loyalty. The tone was smug, dismissive, and unnecessarily rude. They’ve even gone out of their way to belittle the previous owners by saying Brookdale “wasn’t corporate” — as if being corporate is something to brag about. The former management may not have been corporate, but they were fair, community-focused, and respectful, which is more than can be said now. This storage facility is in a rapidly growing city where people from surrounding states are moving in, buying up homes, and using storage units while waiting to purchase property — driving up costs and forcing locals out. Instead of standing by the locals who supported Brookdale for years, MyPlace Storage is fully embracing the corporate mindset and pricing everyone accordingly. What used to be a locally respected business is now a cold, corporate operation that openly admits they will raise prices year after year and dismisses anyone who questions it. Long-time and local customers should look elsewhere. ... Read more

I would just like to say, at first I was extremely upset that Brookdale was no longer &, that MyPlace had now taken over the facility. Brookdale was absolutely fantastic and they were very down to earth people who took care of their locals. When I say locals , I mean, the ones who didn't move here from another state and only use their units for a few months until they finished building their house, or moving in to their new home. I myself have been in the same unit now for over 6 years & now this company has came in & of course raised the unit price extremely high. However, I did contact the management at the office in Alcoa "Amy" when I realized my bill had went up so significantly &, she was super nice & extremely helpful . She did get in contact with the owner and he agreed, he wanted to accommodate us since we had already had our unit for so many years and were loyal customers. He only went up on the unit $10. I was extremely grateful and appreciative for this. Fast Forward 1yr, I get an email this past week explaining that my unit now is going up another $25! It's literally been one year since they took over the business and they've went up on my unit $35 since they arrived. So, I'm not quite understanding the idea behind going up on the unit yearly?? If MyPlace doesn't care enough about their loyal customers who have been with them for x amount of years, I prefer to no longer do business with a company like that. Not very professional or courteous to your long-standing loyal customers. Do Better! ... Read more

Great place to use for self storage. Seems like there is just about any type of storage needs you might have. Teresa called me personally on move-in day to welcome me and I really liked that. When I have called in for any other questions or concerns, Teresa has been right there to take care of it. Nice facility as well. Will recommend to others. ... Read more

5 stars bc you can’t give 10 on here. Between Teresa and Anna you can expect the highest level of customer service here. You’re greeted with kindness, treated with respect, and both employees I’ve met with are top notch when it comes to doing their job right but also being here for the people. Never an issue, never will be one with this group. Wouldn’t have it any other way! ... Read more

The prior owner never notified they had sold. The new owner never notified they had purchased. They sent my bills to an unauthorized person via email- Once discovered- i paid the bill in full- On April 1- they had a price increase of 39%. I paid March and prepaid April- they charged me a late fee for February and March- but never sent a bill. The supervisor in Texas would not waive the late fee- So i paid by cc the bill. Now today i recevied another paper bill for April!!! The new owners have increased my price by 39%- sent my bills to the incorrect place- charged a late fee for their incompetence- took payment for March and Prepaid April- and now getting billed for April that does not even agree to the prior invoice- Move out while you can! ... Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at MyPlace Self Storage - 253 Brookdale Road include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Onsite Manager, Truck Rentals, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, First Floor Access, Online Payment and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 540 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by MyPlace Self Storage - 253 Brookdale Road start from $65 and can go up to $308 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
