Worst experience with Uhaul in the 25 plus years I have been dealing with them. Representative at pick up seemed bothered to have to deal with us. Different representative on drop off. First thing he asked is if I took a picture of the mileage and fuel level before taking the truck. I have never had that asked of me. He said that everyone should do that. Why didn't your son bring it up on pick up then? Then receiveda phone call after leaving threatening us with extra charges because we didnt fold the moving blanketsthat were thrown all over the back of the truck on pick up. No greeting, no information at all, just the threat of $3 per blanket charge to clean up the mess they gave me. At this point I hung up. The "owner" then called back to tell me that I was right saying they gave me non folded moving blankets. The people at this location need to be retrained or replaced. Customers should not be called and insulted then spoken too like garbage. I will never return to this location and will seriously think about it before ever renting from Uhaul again after this. ... My past experience with them was not the greatest. The older man was very rude and ended up opening at 1330 instead of 12. Must of had a long lunch even though they open at noon. I will not get into further detail, but definitely do not recommend. ... Read more

I’ve never rented a storage unit here, but I’ve rented enough trucks and trailers to fill several of their storage units. Everyone here is pleasant, friendly and honest. Never a bad experience and will gladly travel across Blount County to deal with them every time. ... Read more

I would not recommend the u-haul side of this business. I reserved a u-haul van several days before I needed it, but could not remembered if I had selected a 5:30 or 5:45 pick up time. I called for confirmation on my rental and pick up time. The man who answered the phone stated that no one was renting anything today. He went on to explain that the computers were down, so no one had been able to get reservations through today. I stated that I had made the reservations a few days ago and double checked that I would not be able to pick it up. (I was unsure if u-haul had some sort of back up system, or if this was only effecting people who had tried to make reservations today). He explained again that the computers were down nation wide and asked if I was a local or if I needed a one way rental. I explained that I was a local teacher and that I just needed a van to move my belongings from there one classroom to another. He stated again that rentals were not available for pick up today due to the system being down. I said okay, so nothing will go through on my card correct? (I just wanted to double check that I wouldn't still be billed for the reservation I made) He responded by saying, "well, you're a teacher sweetheart, why don't you answer that question?" I ended up going to the u-haul on Alcoa Highway after I got off the phone with him. They were able to immediately rent a van out to me with no problems. They did say that they had some issues with their computer system, but that they were still able to do rentals. ... Read more

Interesting that other review. I've met and worked with the owner and his employees and always had great experiences. They've been very helpful, with both rental trucks and storage units. I currently have two storage units rented with him. He actually helped me get a storage unit from another storage company in town because he didn't have one large enough for what I needed. I'm renting a truck again from him this weekend. It's an honorable and reputable company in my opinion. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at 411 Storage - 2703 US Highway 411 South include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Truck Rentals, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Enclosed and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
