The storage units are in good shape and reasonably priced. What makes it worthwhile, to use Powers Storage is their customer service. The young lady who runs the office is incredibly helpful. She made, what could be a stressful experience, enjoyable, by her kind manner. I am grateful for my experience with Powers Storage. ... Read more

I hate to give ratings below three unless there's a substantial problem with a product or service. This is unfortunately one of those. I have experienced a valuable loss of personal items from Powers Storage estimated at $2500 that I will never get back. I hope this review saves somebody else from losing their property due to making assumptions and bad decisions. I have tried to fairly review below, but the low rating for this company is simply for the customer service portion. As a customer I feel that they could've done better with such tiny effort and failed my expectations. I will agree with the other reviews that the staff at Power's Storage is very cordial and helpful, but only helpful when you ask specific questions, which I unfortunately did not do. Information of the things you need to know is not very forthcoming from this company. As a result, my items in storage were sold out from under me without my knowledge and without knowledge of the delinquent payments until I went to get some items from the storage unit. Please understand and let be clear that this company did everything by the law and in their rights. They attempted to notify me through postal service to let me know about the delinquent payments, but due to a non-forwarding address that was my fault that I did not receive the notification. Although the contract requires your phone, e-mail, and text preferences (Yes or no to receiving texts), this company only used the mailing address to notify me. In discussing with customer service, Powers Storage claims they are not required to call or e-mail or text customers about a late payment nor do they feel it's their responsibility. Additionally it seems a miscommunication occurred in the initial conversations when I established a rental as I had indicated interest in setting up auto-payments with my debit card. That never happened, and just now confirming due to the loss of property. Regardless of my errors, it would only seem sensible that a company would make better attempts to get their money that's owed, and I would gladly have rectified the problem if I had only known they were not taking payments out automatically with a simple phone call, e-mail, or text from Powers Storage. Overall this was a bad experience and feel we both customer and company could've done better together. After all a simple phone call is much more effortless than sending a letter by mail and would have led to prompt resolution on my part. I am NOT in any way suggesting to not use this company, so if you do, be very careful, ask questions, make sure your information is up to date, payments are up to date, and get everything verbally discussed in writing that's discussed outside of the contract! Ratings: Customer Service: 1.0 Ease of Access: 3 - no after hours access Payment Options: 1.0 - they do not do auto-payments Prices: 4 - Very reasonable. Recommendations for Company: 1) I recommend that the company remove the required e-mail and text options from their contract since they have expressed they do not feel the need to contact the customer. Requiring this information is very misleading giving false expectations that as a customer I would receive phone, text, or email notifications. 2) I would also request the company make it clear with customers they do not process auto-payments. Maybe put that highlighted in the contractual agreement. ... Read more

They own a lot of things in the town, but they're trash. I bought a house next to one of their big storage unit that holds gold flake and I have been sick with cockroaches ever since the day I moved in and they said they it's not their problem. They are absolutely right, it is not their problem that they spray they're cockroaches to my house and my neighbor's homes, and it's making us sick, maybe the health department should be involved. ... Nicely priced, wonderful customer service from the front desk, always so helpful when needed. Love that they have an actual office I can go to when I have a question or need to pay my storage rent. Not a lot like that around Manchester or Tullahoma. Everything always goes so smoothly. If they don't have a storage unit open, they will be happy to put you on a list to save your spot. Various sizes as well. I used their services for about 11 months and NEVER had an issue. Also, they have security cameras watching the units, which I loved. I highly, highly recommend this place. ... Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 50 to 400 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Powers Storage - 1515 McMinnville Hwy start from $45 and can go up to $250 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
