Helped a friend move some items here. The woman in the office was very nice, and the site was clean. If ni ever needs a storage place I would consider renting here. The price is average for storage areas. ... Read more

Yes, they only take cash and checks, but they're friendly, and by far the cheapest place in town. Only annoying thing is not being able to get in when they're closed. UPDATE: a few months after I ended my rental and moved all of my stuff out (late 2020), I got a call from a rude woman (I think the owner? the woman who ran the desk was very nice) who told me that I hadn't paid my bill in months. When I told her that I had ended my lease, she looked at the paper again, saw that she was mistaken, and then told me that she still wanted me to pay! I laughed at her and that was the last I heard from them. Luckily they didn't have a way to charge me, but I'm sure if they were competent enough to take credit cards, they would have been charging me. So make sure you get written confirmation that your lease is over when you end it. It's worth noting that security here is VERY BAD, the buildings are only secured with locking doorknobs, not even deadbolts, and then you're allowed unsupervised access to a subdivided warehouse with plywood walls between units and latches that would be trivial to cut/remove. So don't keep anything valuable here. ... Read more

Great group of folks that run this place, friendly and always helpful. It's a bit old school (check-in at the office for key access to buildings, cash/check only, etc.) but it's substantially less money than other places in the area, so I'm not sure what other folks are griping about. I run a business full time from my storage unit and the (marginally) limited access hours don't interfere at all with my ability to do so. Highly recommended. ... Read more

I have had a unit with them for over 3 years. The staff has always been wonderful and the facility is very clean. We moved out today because our situation has improved and we no longer needed storage. We would recommend them to anyone looking for a storage facility and will definitely use them again if the needed. Thank you! ... Read more

Before you leave a negative review, know the rules: They only take cash or checks. Closed on Sunday. Outside of daily operating hours, one cannot enter the premises . If you make a late payment, you will receive a penalty. If any if that is difficult for you to integrate, then it’s best to pay more to another, more expensive, more corporate location in the area, there are plenty to choose from. My family has used this place for storage for the last 8 years through many personal transitions, and the owner/operators have always been nothing other that kind, supportive and flexible to all of us. Very reasonable people and least expensive option. Keep in mind, that for long term storage, your stored items will certainly pick up a bit of a musty smell, especially after the heavy rainy season. This is a general experience of storage in Knoxville. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Bearden Self Storage - 6415 Baum Drive include the following amenities: Drive-Up Access, Onsite Manager, Security Camera and Gate. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 50 to 1,320 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Bearden Self Storage - 6415 Baum Drive start from $60 and can go up to $570 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
