I had my storage unit for 15 years. But upon moving out, I realized they have a rodent problem and grass growing through the bottom of the walls. The tops of the units are wide open for the neighbor to put a ladder in their unit to take whatever they want from yours. The hours of the storage unit was the final draw for me. You cannot access your possessions after 8pm est. When the average working person works late, those hours are impossible. Plus no dumpsters to throw trash away. You have to take it with you. Sometimes that's not possible. I wouldn't recommend these units to anyone that works normal hours. ... Read more

I have had this unit for a few years. But about 2 years ago there was a leak and it destroyed 5 boxes of books, so I lost 25 or so books. I called about it and was told they would come out to fix it, I just had to be there. I left work early to meet them, and no one came out. Nothing was EVER done. A few months ago, there was animal feces on my items! I caller multiple times and was told the manager would get ahold of me and I never heard a thing! I have a few hundred dollars in damages (and I have insurance) and not a thing has been done. I am highly upset about this. ... Read more

This storage facility is AMAZING!!! They are located directly off of I-40, so it's super convenient. They’re very secure, equipped with cameras and all metal buildings, including thick metal doors. The 24 hours access is definitely a big plus too. But the best feature is, it’s climate controlled. We kept clothing, clothe furniture and other precious items that could’ve been damage in another storage facility. Not to mention it’s nice to have the air conditioning or heat on the occasions that you may have to spend time in the unit looking for items, organizing, etc. They were a life saver and put our minds at easy, knowing our possessions were safe and secure!! ... Very clean. Extremely friendly when you call. Amazing security. Fair pricing on their units. Absolutely the best storage experience we have ever had. There are not enough words to explain how happy we are with this place. We have recommend anyone who asks about a storage unit to get one here. Very easy to set up automatic bill pay. You can make payments 24/7 and even buy your locks on site if needed 24/7. Good access to units too. Definitely, if you're looking for someplace to keep your things and want peace of mind doing it, then you want this place. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Do-It Yourself Storage - 822 West Highway 25 70 include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, 24 hour access, Drive-Up Access, Onsite Manager, Truck Rentals, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Kiosk Available, Parking, First Floor Access, Multi-Level Storage and Online Payment. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 200 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Do-It Yourself Storage - 822 West Highway 25 70 start from $25 and can go up to $159 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
