Me and my husband came in to look at some units and Sonya was very knowledgeable and courteous and has great customer service. I enjoyed her company and we talked about how good chicken is and hot jalapeño peppers now I'm starving and I will definitely be renting a unit from here for sure. Thank you Sonya for your hospitality . ... Read more

Do you want cockroaches infesting your things? Do you want the price to be increased every 3 months or so? Do you want the handicap access to not work? Do you want issues with safety due to the door being broken and just propped open for months at a time? This is the place for you. They constantly raise the price. They don’t care, they’re rude when you call and ask questions. The entire building is infested with cockroaches. I never had issues with cockroaches, and now everything I had in my unit (it was a lot of stuff) is infested. About having an heart attack with every box I open and 2 or 3 run out into my apartment. After Helene, the door was just propped open. Sure, it was nice for a week so I could get things I needed, but it had been open for about 6-7 months so anyone who wants to go in can do that. It’s truly not worth it. There are so many other climate controlled places that are better. ... Read more

I had a bad experience. To start out with I was told that my monthly rent would be $97 with my senior discount. That was before I was told that I would have to have insurance and it would come to $114 a month plus another fee that I had to pay to start my rental. I think they should tell you the full amount that your rent will be with everything including insurance. Then on top of that when I put my things into my unit I noticed that the door that led to the entry was partly open. I didn't feel good about that so I called the number on the door that said for service. I got a return call and the service said that I would be responsible to pay for the repair since I was not the owner. I declined to pay and canceled any service that they would have to do. A few days later I received an email saying that my storage unit was not safe due to my lock not being secure. When I got back to the building to bring more things to put in my unit I tried to get my lock to work. A friend that came with me also tried. We couldn't get it to lock. Then I tried to find someone to help me. I went to the office door but it was locked no one was in there. So I tried to call someone at corporate. No one answered so I left a message. I told them if someone couldn't come over to help me I would have to call the sheriff. Shortly after that I went to call the sheriff because I had to make sure my unit was secure. So when I called the Sheriff's number I noticed someone coming across the parking lot so I hung up. I called across the parking lot and said can you help me and the woman said yes I'm on the way. When she got there she showed my friend and I how to lock the unit she just pulled the latch all the way over. And it locked. We told her that the inside door was partly open and it wouldnt lock. She said she knew about it. She said the service people hadnt been out there to fix it yet. I'm thinking when? Its been over a week. Then she left. So my friend and I decided to try and use my lock and lock the unit trying it the way she showed us. It didn't work. Then my friend said I think she pushed on the door somehow to make it where the latch would go all the way across so she tried it and it still wouldn't work. Then she noticed that there was a handle at the bottom on the right side of the door. So she put her foot on it and held it while she moved the latch across and I used my lock. She pulled the handle to see if the door would lift. It didn't. I don't know why the woman did not tell us that we had to put your foot on the handle at the bottom of the door to get the latch to move across so we could use a lock to lock it? The whole ordeal made me stressed. I was already stressed because I didn't have much time to get my things into the building because I had another appointment. Another thing I noticed that there were vagrant type people hanging around outside the building. The inside door that is supposed to lock when you leave still does not lock. You can take your hand and open it completely. This is not safe for those who store their things in this building. It's concerning that homeless people might try to get in some of the units. Many of us have quilts and blankets in our storage areas. So I can only give it only 2 Stars.I hope I don't have anymore regrets of storing my things at this storage unit. I lost most of my things 3 years ago when druggies burned my trailer down in a park where I rented a space for my trailer. They were selling drugs there. After I called the Sheriff...shortly after that my home was burned down. I couldn't afford to get insurance. I still don't have my own home that I can afford to rent. Waiting on a senior government apartment list. I don't want to loose the little that I have in my storage unit. I pray that that door gets fixed soon. ... Read more

My husband and I are in the process of moving to our new home and needed to find a storage unit. We weren't sure who to go to, but I found Prime Storage in my Google search. When we got there Sonya was there to help explain the fees and units. She even allowed us to go look at the units before we purchased. She has the warmest and friendliest personality. She is very knowledgeable and thorough. Thank you so much for your help and being so nice. We got the 10×30 units and they are clean, and you can get to the gate access easily. We definitely recommend Prime Storage. ... Read more

This building is in poor repair. I moved my property out because their doors and alarm system have been broken for over a month. The outside doors aren’t automatic, so they get in the way when bringing large items in and out. There were never enough carts available and usually that was the case even if no one else was there. Also, the bathroom was never available. It remained locked every time I tried it, so I assume it was out of order as well. This place just needs to be maintained. Otherwise, it was convenient and dry. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Prime Storage (SC22) - 3146 Wade Hampton Blvd include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, 24 hour access, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Truck Rentals, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, First Floor Access, Online Payment and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 420 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Prime Storage (SC22) - 3146 Wade Hampton Blvd start from $55 and can go up to $465 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
