DO NOT PUT YOUR PRESCIOUS ITEMS IN THESE UNITS. the rent went up almost double in two years, paid monthly rent plus "insurance" protection plan. temperatures of over 100 degrees in a "temperature controlled unit". was told by colby hopper good luck getting claim approved. leather sofas peeled due to extreme heat and candles that were for my business melted. which was the main reason i chose this place in sc heat for the temp control. i should have just put everything in my 30 ft garage in my yard. same results. you will definately get the run around with the claims process.. dont do it rent a shed, get a mini split unit. i rented a shed from sumter sc ( down the block from sroa) i now have a 40x20 shed that is REALLY temp controlled already pre wired with electricity we just had an electrician hook up everything and i pay 90 a month no interest the total price was 7300!!!! cut out dealing with these people and if you have the land buy a shed!!! ... I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE! They are charging me $430.00 a MONTH to have a unit it there. Like why? I’m screwed because I cannot get my stuff out and I have no clue why it’s so much. They just raise it and continue to raise it and not tell you why. I called several times and no return callas. Called the toll free number and they couldn’t tell me anything. Told me they would have the district manager call and never got that call either. DO NOT RENT HERE! DO NOT RENT HERE! DO NOT RENT HERE! ... Read more

The office manager is not pleasant. I've spoken to her multiple times on the phone and today when I went to make sure everything was set on ending my contract. She was sitting inside the office with the door locked even the hours are 9:30-5:30 and it's only 3 o'clock and refused to let me in. My storage unit rent (after the promotion period) went up $50 with absolutely NO notice. When I called she beat around the bush before finally saying the rent went up because of the economy? Okay. Still no notice. I'm guessing they hope all the military people storing here NEVER notice their auto payment went up. Feels very sketch. The security gate with keypad to get into the units, you know the one we PAY for every month to keep our items secure (not to mention the vehicles parked could be easily towed away with no one the wiser) has not been closed the ENTIRE month ofJune. (today is June 26th) Oh and they allow the units to use moth balls, so expect ALL of your items to be permeated with a chemical smell that takes multiple washes to get out. Stay away. Very sketch and aggravating that the rent was raised WITHOUT notice AND that the security gate has been inoperable for the last MONTH. Many other storage places around the Air Force Base that will take a little more pride when interacting with customers and are more upfront and transparent if they raise the rent. ... Read more

I had been searching for a storage unit in Sumter for weeks, and the process took longer than expected because most storage companies in the area do not offer in-person service. I wanted to see what I was investing in, as storage rentals, unlike most merchandise, cannot simply be returned if unsatisfied. Venita at Storage of America truly stood out by offering exceptional service. She made the experience different—better—compared to other storage companies in Sumter. She took the time to show me multiple units, ensuring I found the best fit for my needs. Even though I was not renting the largest space, she was genuinely helpful, patient, and committed to making sure I felt confident in my choice. Thanks to her, I was comfortable signing the lease, knowing I had the right amount of space. If you are looking for great service and a hands-on approach, I highly recommend Storage of America, especially with Venita’s assistance! ... Read more

We used Storage rentals of America for about 3 years. We had two units. We've never missed our payments, never even late. We've spent about 17,000$ ,in total, since they like to raise their fee now and then. Up until the day we were emptying our units we had no issues. We're a military family so when transportation was arranged my husband notified the property manager and made sure she knew a truck would be coming to pack us up. He also asked if the team would be able to use the restroom on site and was told that they would be. Everything seemed fine. But once the truck arrived that changed. Suddenly she had an issue with everyone and everything. She pulled up next to the truck and complained that we were blocking there flow of traffic and needed to go. Mind you they were in full packing mode by this time. I'm assuming she wanted us to say yes ma'am and leave but since she knew ahead of time and approved it, the team pushed on. Then she continued her drive around us because we were definitely not blocking the road. The team was in fact, denied access to the restroom on site. They had to go to KFC for their bathroom breaks, which I feel was absolutely unacceptable and incredibly rude. At one point she was getting onto the workers demanding they leave, demanding to speak to the owner. The business owner was not on site. They never are in these pack up situations. She was unreasonable at every opportunity. She even claimed one worker swore at her but she was the only one who heard it even though multiple people witnessed the conversation. Mind you this whole time there might have been 4 other people in the entire storage facility that whole day. Our team was respectful and minded their own. And funny enough, when she intially approached, part of the moving team didn't even want to interact with her because this wasn't their first pack up here and they knew what was coming. Apparently she enjoys harassing her client's moving teams. I do not recommend this facility. The manager went out of her way to make an already stressful day even more stressing and upsetting. ... Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Storage Rentals of America - 4194 Broad Street include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Multi-Level Storage, Online Payment and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 50 to 450 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Storage Rentals of America - 4194 Broad Street start from $58 and can go up to $312 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
