Worked with Tammy to quickly find a storage unit while being thrown out of a retail space with no notice. The process was smooth and had no issues. Upon move in - Tammy suggested products to help with moisture in the unit since i had high quality vintage furniture, that was available for purchase in the office. (which worked great, BTW.) Only rented here for a month, but was in often. Facility was always secure and staff was friendly. Will return if we need services again. ... Read more

Moving is always so stressful, we were so relieved at how easy extra space storage made this part. From being able to rent online to the people working in the center. Tammy made us feel so welcome and like we knew what we were doing with our first storage unit ever. The spaces are clean and easy to navigate and I could not be more pleased. ... Read more

This facility was amazing and customer service was superior. When I initially purchased the unit I realized I would need something larger. Tammy was quick to assist and accommodate my needs. Each time I spoke with her she was cheerful and quick to address all concerns. Not once did I feel my storage wouldn't be secure. Thanks Tammy for providing exceptional customer service and support.?? ... Read more

I rented two different size storage units at different periods of time from Life Storage in the last 5 years and would definitely go back if I had need for storage again in the future. I think their prices are reasonable and their service is friendly. Update after move out. I had some items stolen from my storage unit. I didn't notice on the day I moved out that the items were missing because I was in a hurry to prevent paying the next month's rent and the locks were not cut or otherwise disturbed at the door entrance and only a few items were missing. At first I couldn't figure out how someone got into my storage unit without breaking the locks and then why did they take some items and not other valuable items? After evaluation I think someone small was able to get in through the air gap between the wall and the ceiling since it appears the gap might be 10 inches, plus the metal roof might flex a bit. Also all items that were taken were less than this 10-in dimension while many more valuable items that were larger were not taken. I had about $500 to $700 worth of items stolen. If you are renting at this location or even at a different location pay particular attention to the air gap above the wall. The air gap should only be enough room for air, not a person! In the photo of the gap you can estimate the size of the joist between the wall and the roof based on the two inch dimension of the 2x4. The 2x4 plus the joist appears to be about 10 inches even though the people who run Life Storage measured it as 8 inches. Even 8 inches is too much of a gap. I think the thieves are customers and have a storage unit somewhere in the facility and likely use a ladder that they keep in their storage unit to assist in the theivery. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Storage Rentals of America - 422 Old Trolley Road include the following amenities: Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Online Payment and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
