THIS EXPERIENCE WAS VERY IRRITABLE!! THE BEGINNING PROCESS WAS GREAT GETTING SET UP AND EVERYTHING BUT NOT WHEN IT COMES TO HAVING QUESTIONS. ONCE THE UNIT IS YOURS THERE IS NO COMMUNICATION. THE LOCATION I USED DID NOT HAVE ANYONE ON SITE AND EVEN TRYING TO CALL OTHER LOCATIONS I DID NOT GET HELP. WHEN FINALLY FINDING A 1800 NUMBER THEY COULD NOT ASSIST ME AND SAID THEY'LL HAVE TO SEND A MESSAGE TO THE PROPERTY MANAGER WHICH COULD TAKE TWO DAYS. I HAD ANOTHER ISSUE WHERE I WANTED TO RETURN THE LOCK TO SOMEONE IN THEIR HAND AND RECEIVE A RECEIPT FOR IT AND WAS FORTUNATE TO RECEIVE HELP FROM A LOCATION I FOUND ON MY OWN WHEN I SPOKE TO A REP TO HELP THEY GAVE ME ALL CLOSED LOCATIONS OR NO ONE WAS THERE (ONLY KIOSK SERVICE) I TOLD THAT PERSON I WAS VACATING AND I CALLED AND SPOKE WITH A REP MAKING THEM AWARE I WAS NO LONGER IN NEEED OF THE UNIT. I AM STILL RECEIVING AN EMAIL STATING MY BILL BEING DUE NEITHER HAVE I RECEIVED AN EMAIL STATING I DEPARTED OR CANCELED. THIS PLACE IS A HEADACHE WHEN I THINK THEIR GOAL IS TO BE CONVENIENT IN WHICH, IT IS NOT!!!!!!! OH AND NOT TO MENTION THE GATE LEAVING OUT WAS COMPLETELY BROKEN SO A GATE CODE WAS IRRELEVANT AND THERES NO ONE ON SITE TO MONITOR PEOPLE COMING IN AND OUT WITHOUT A CODE. ... Read more

Raised my rate on a 10 x 25 unit from $267 to $358 after just six months. I can understand a little rate increase here and there but almost a 100 bucks!?!? And the online price for a bigger 10 x 30 unit is $226. Don't fall for the bait and switch. **Update. Public Storage returned my rate to the original amount so I appreciate the follow up and rate reduction. ... Read more

Avoid if at all possible…They increase rates exponentially. One of the two gates is always broken allowing anyone access. The leaves are always blowing under the storage unit doors and there is evidence of rodents everywhere not to mention roaches. I was paying over $500 for two 10’x20’ units that were not climate controlled and moved all my stuff to a storage location off of Beech Hill where I already have other units. Now that they expanded I was able to get the units I was waiting for and am now paying $264 for two 10’x30’ units that are climate controlled and on the first floor. I’ve been at the location off Beech Hill for 5 years and have never had any of the issues mentioned above and on top of that they have on site property management so you can talk to someone face to face. ... Exit gate has been broken open for over a month. They charge over $125 per month to park an RV in here, what am I paying for? Can't get ahold of the office either. Update: After posting a bad review they increased my rent to $175 per month... I will take my busness elsewhere, I suggest others to do the same. ... Read more

I had a great experience dealing with Tracie Ramsey during the dread full time of moving. She had my families storage setup in a very timely manner and was going out of her way help. We will definitely be back. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Public Storage - 11055 Dorchester Road include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, First Floor Access, Online Payment and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 30 to 350 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Public Storage - 11055 Dorchester Road start from $35 and can go up to $279 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
