It was truly a great pleasure doing business with Forward Storage. With the passing of our dear baby brother, his property was shipped from Arizona. We needed a place to store his furniture, etc in a very short time frame. The driver of the truck found Forward Storage which was close to our home. We could not have been more happier. In making arrangements with Kay, of Forward Storage, she made things very easy and pleasant. When we needed an extra month, right away, she was there for us. She is a very kind and pleasant person to talk to. No fuss, no huff and I liked that. I highly recommend Forward Storage if you need that extra space to store your precious items. Thanks again Kay, for everything!! Update:: On July 20th, 2024, I spoke with Jeremy. He was so kind and was very helpful when I called to let Forward Storage know that I cleaned out my storage shed (#01) and that I would be paying my final bill at the end of July. I express to him how appreciative we were in the last few years with Forward Storage. He spoke nothing but kindness to us. My family and I have been with Forward Storage since 2021 when our dear baby brother passed away and we had his property shipped from Arizona. Through the new years, I've spoken with several staff with the company. They have been nothing but kind. We started off with one of their largest unit for my brother's property. There was a few items left over that we didn't have room for in our homes and of course we didn't want to give them away so we called them for one of their smallest units (see pictures). It served our needs very well especially when my son's shipment was sent home from Korea after serving 12 years in the Army (2 tour in Iraq and 1 in Afghanistan). Knowing we had rented the smaller storage shed, we felt safe storing his shipment in the unit until he was able to get to them himself. We live less than a half a mile from Forward Storage so that made things so very easy when we had to put things in or take things out of the unit. I'm kinda sad to leave Forward Storage, but it's time. We have nothing but respect for Forward Storage and no doubt I will always recommend them to other. It's good to know, I'll be able to come back if I ever need them again. I would like to thank Jeremy again for his kindness. Hopefully he will be the one I speak with when I make the final payment but if not, just know Jeremy, You Rock!!! Sending a great big THANK YOU to Forward Storage. Our Appreciation will forever shine this company. The kindness and understanding in customer service was awesome!! Tracey Robinson Port Royal, SC July 21, 2024 ... Read more
Tracey D. - 21 July 2024
Prices have gone up dramatically as other users have noted - rent about doubled in the course of just a year. However, this is because the new owners have made many changes to improve the property at the cost of the tenants - in just a few months, they have repaired many leaks in the roof, repainted in some areas, and installed a security system (cameras) and fence around the property to make it safer for tenants. Overall, I think the changes are good, and the new owners have excellent communication with the new tenants. They are very easy to work with and get ahold of, and have treated us very fair. Even so, prices are high even for this area. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Forward Storage - 1720 Ribaut Road include the following amenities: Indoor, 24 hour access, Drive-Up Access, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Unstaffed Location, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted and Online Payment. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 50 to 1,200 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Forward Storage - 1720 Ribaut Road start from $70 and can go up to $900 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
