Read some helpful reviews of Go Store It at 602 Johnnie Dodds Blvd, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

DO NOT RENT HERE My unit was broken into. We have notified the company and have been waiting for 6+ hours to talk to the management. We are in the process of figuring out if/what was taken and filing a police report. The security alone is a problem, but the lack of customer service is also concerning. DO NOT USE THIS PROPERTY. Edit: after posting this review I received a call from management and filed a police report. This allegedly has happened over the last few weeks and been reported at to MPD. This location clearly has a security and communication problem. ... Read more

I would give them 0 stars if I could. No one works there - it is all virtual. Good luck getting a virtual manager to appear on the monitor. No one answers the phone or returns phone calls, I’m guessing their headquarters is run by AI. And they increase the rent every other month claiming it is a market rate increase. I went from paying $300/month for 3 units to paying $600/month for 2 units. And they know there is nothing you can do about it, so they will not negotiate or stop the increases. You have two options- either deal with it or pay a couple thousand dollars to move everything to a competitor. And at this point, I’m seriously considering the latter. They suck! ... Read more

Do not use this company. I was warned that they would raise the rent on your unit as soon as you move in and sure enough after 5 months I received a notice of raise in price that was just about double of what I was paying. Very upsetting to get everything moved in and organized only to find out I am being charged double the price. ... Read more

Our unit was broken into and ransacked. At least 2 other units were also broken into that I know of (likely more but I can absolutely confirm that 3 units were broken into on Aug 19-20). Our unit was on the 3rd floor and secured with a lock. It appears that the criminal used some sort of crowbar to bend the bar on the door as our lock was still locked. It also appears that the criminals had plenty of time to search through almost every box and bag in our unit. In speaking with an employee at this facility, she told me that this has happened before. I had no idea that these kinds of burglaries happened often! I thought that our belongings were safe in a climate controlled, keypad controlled door, on the 3rd floor with a solid lock. I immediately reported the break-in and was told that a maintenance worker would be there in about 30 minutes. Once it became apparent that multiple units had been broken into, I contacted the office again and requested that they send more than one maintenance worker over to manage the situation. To my knowledge, no one additional was ever sent. Graham, the one worker who was sent, used a hammer to bend back the bar on our unit to “fix” the door. To further add insult to injury, Go Store It did not respond to 2 emails (sent 8/22, 8/26) that I sent requesting help and information. I called and spoke to Michelle on 8/28 who said she hasn’t seen the emails but that she could get the maintenance/facilities worker to call me. When asked who was in charge of serious issues like break-ins, she responded “I guess that would be me”. I verbally requested an extra week to move our belongings out since my email requests went unanswered (our lease is up 8/31) since I needed extra time to repack and clean up the mess left by thieves. Michelle said that we could have until the 3rd to avoid being charged. I have received ZERO information, help or support from Go Store It and their response to multiple break-ins at their Mt Pleasant location has been inadequate and unacceptable. I absolutely would not recommend this facility or company to anyone and I will think twice before ever storing belongings again. EDITED TO ADD - we moved out all belongings from this unit by 8/31 and was still charged rent on 9/1 (yes, I did notify the office of our move out in early August). It is now 9/10 and I am still sorting out this mess including a late fee for something we paid AND am still waiting on a call back from the message that I left on 8/28. I have sent yet another email and have even copied the COO for assistance. I have been repeatedly met with incompetence but am happy to see that someone had the wherewithal to post a standard reply to my bad review. If only they had used that time to reach out and fix the latest issue… ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Go Store It - 602 Johnnie Dodds Blvd include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Multi-Level Storage and Online Payment. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 200 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Go Store It - 602 Johnnie Dodds Blvd start from $34 and can go up to $303 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
