I had reserved a large unit to store my motorcycle ??. when i arrived, I noticed the unit floor was on a 1½ foot elevation therefore not allowing me to move my motorcycle in, I went to the office to see if I could get a different space, I was met with empathy & understanding, I was actually shown a new unit right by the front that was level with the ground. I was swapped and moved in at no extra charge :) that was great service ... Read more

I went to the office and nobody was there. The ladies at the front desk were incredibly rude. I walked out. I'm moving to town and I want to make sure the place was safe for my wife to go. I definitely did not get a safe feeling.. I walked the Midgard facility and the Storedge facility and the managers over there were fantastic. ... Read more

I recently ran into a health crisis with my wife, and I needed to quickly secure a storage facility. I had made a reservation online, but when I went to check in on the day of the move (5.29), it was discovered I needed a larger unit than what I had reserved. When it rains it pours. Thankfully the staff at my local facility, Amanda and Amy, were super great to work with. They went above and beyond, making calls on my behalf. They were very compassionate and understanding towards my personal situation, and they worked hard to get me what I needed. I'm grateful for decent people like this. This world is full of difficulty, and when I needed a friendly face to help me with an issue, they were put in my path. So, thank you Amanda and Amy, and thank you Public Storage. ... Read more

Raised my rates within the first 6 months of renting. Wouldn’t take my unused lock (that they force you to purchase) back because it was 5 weeks after move in. I stopped in the first week but the office was closed. Then was out of town for holiday travel. However, working with property owners all issues were resolved. 5 stars ... Read more

At the beginning of my lease with Public storage, everything was great or seemed to be. The unit was climate controlled, the size I needed, and the price was fairly reasonable. I did notice possible pest/insect issues but didn't think much into it as they provided pest control throughout their facilities. The rent went up every year by at least $20 a month. I went 3 days into the next month and now have an entire month of storage on my credit report. I tried to contact them about an insurance claim and never got an answer and wasn't able to file the claim because the system recognized I was no longer a storage occupant. I had to replace my washing machine due to rust, a mattress which was wrapped in a plastic covering due to something leaking possibly, several of my cooking pots are now warped, and the handles have faded from red to pink as if they'd been exposed to excessive heat. The unit was cleaner than I received it when I left. It could have been rented the same day. I urge anyone to do the research. This place was the closest to where I was living at the time. Looking back, it may have been a better decision to go somewhere that's completely enclosed for the price. I hope yall have a beautiful day! Happy Storage Hunting! ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Public Storage - 9 Saluda Dam Road include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, First Floor Access, Online Payment and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 400 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Public Storage - 9 Saluda Dam Road start from $25 and can go up to $229 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
