Stored my boat here for over a year. Sold my boat and cancelled my storage contract today. 30 day notice is required. But they DO NOT pro-rate your last month. So, if you cancel on Nov 2nd with a 30-day notice you still have to pay ALL OF DECEMBER. Would recommend looking elsewhere for your storage needs. ... Read more

Jerry Ham really helped me out with getting everything squared away with my two Yamaha outboards and we even found a great deal on another boat the same day! If you're looking for a professional sales and service team Matthews Marine is THE place to go, storage options for long term and short term are the best around. My boat when stored, I know is secure and safe there!! 10/10 would recommend. ... Read more

Updating to add: I was looking over my credit report and saw a hard inquiry which led back to my visit at Matthews Marine. The only reason I agreed to an immediate credit pull was because we were promised that it was a “soft pull just to see where we stand and so it would not effect our credit”. I now have a hard inquiry on my credit report that will not fall off until 2022. Never did hear back from anyone either way so this was all for no reason. Beware! Went in to look at the possibility of purchasing a boat. A gentleman took all of our information including address, work information, income information, social security numbers for, what we assumed, was to get credit information to help us get a boat. Told us he would call us. That was 2 weeks ago, haven't heard from anyone, even after leaving messages. We should have heard from someone, either way, as a courtesy, whether we were approved or not (especially since we left messages requesting someone to please call us). We had been approved elsewhere, but Mathews had just come recommended to us and is local to us. I'm a little weary and very concerned of the fact they have our personal information including social security numbers and not sure for what reason at this point. ... Read more

They have very poor boat maintenance. Took boat in for annual service, boat was running fine before service. They returned boat to me twice in a non operative condition. The boat had to be returned to the shop 3 times just to get it running. It ran fine before I took it in. They installed the wrong impeller causing the engine to overheat. Obviously they didn’t test the engine after they finished service. They refused to issue a partial refund. The only good thing I can say is that everyone there is helpful and nice. They did work diligently to get the boat running, boat none of that would have been necessary if they did the maintenance properly initially. ... Read more

Matthews Marine did a great job for me. They washed and waxed my boat and made it look like brand new. All the scuff marks were removed and the mildew on the chairs were eradicated. The Boat looks great and their service team is second to none. They were a less than many other boat dealers nearby. All their staff were great and a pleasure to deal with. If you need anything done on your boat I would not hesitate to use them. They are the best, period. IF you are looking for a new boat or one that needs to be repaired or serviced you need to use them. ... Read more

We bought a boat from here close to two years ago. First we came in talked numbers and everything was good. It took them a month to get it to us with a temp registration. It took that long because they claimed they were doing much needed maintenance so that it was safe. From day one things are going wrong. After our temp registration expired after two months, we called to see if our new one was just delayed since we hadn't gotten it yet. I could deal with that. But that wasn't the case. They never did it. It took them 6 months to get us our registration that we paid for. They didn't care. Numerous calls and nothing. Finally everything seemed ok. And then my husband goes to do some light maintenance on it and finds out that nothing was ever done. Everything they claimed to do wasn't done. Most things are rusted or corroding. If it hasn't been so long I'd go down and give them a piece of my mind. But it's not worth. I hope anyone heads this warning. They aren't worried about you, just the money they get. They will NEVER see business from us or anyone we know! ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Matthews Boat and RV Storage - 48 Cecil Reynolds Drive include the following amenities: 24 hour access, Onsite Manager, Security Camera, Gate and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
