Excellent security, with limited access, bright lighting and an unusually secure lock system on unit door. Staff is courteous, and will actually go out of their way to lend assistance when needed. I experienced this first hand when a key was lost. During my three decades of renting self-storage units in four cities, this is the best service I've received ... Read more

I have been in Beaufort for 7 years. Used multiple storage units while I was deployed such as Monster storage when it was around and the Public storage next to Paris Island. Anywhere from 7 months to almost 2 years. Never have I had a problem with rodents. I tried this one due to the great reviews and didn't give it a second thought while i was deployed. I finally move out and find a dead rat almost a foot and a half long from head to toe. It destroyed one of my decorations and chewed on the box spring for the mattress. Luckily i wrapped my mattresses in plastic before i left or those would have been eaten too. The lady in the front desk is very nice but pretty much said I was out of luck. Tried calling the manager and pretty much the same thing. On my check out was told to take a survey. She pretty much forced me to take it but when she asked if i would ever recommend it to my friends I promptly said no and she closed out the survey without finishing it. I guess its not the answers she was looking for. Would not recommend. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Low Country Storage Center - 30 John Galt Road include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted and Online Payment. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
