The lady that helped me the first time was super helpful and sweet. But that’s how it usually is since they are tying to make a sale, I saw her once more and she was still helpful. I went again, because I am finally moving out of state and the new lady that was there was nothing but rude. Horrible attitude , and no help whatsoever. I called management and all they did was cancel for the next month. Not a single attempt to fix or help whatsoever. I wouldn’t recon this place, they are many others with far better management. Besides the rude customer service, my belongings were full of rat poop and urine, Unfortunately I had to discard most of my stuff. Which I had stored for only 4 months. Everything was lest than a year old since I had just moved to SC. ... Read more

Ever since they bought out the previous company, they raised our prices (BOTH of our units, by almost $60 a month). Thank God we found a home so we didn't have to pay that extravagant price more than a month. We had been there for almost 3 years, so much better when the previous owners were there. They helped us when needed, they actually cared about us, instead of sending us a text wanting money every month. $60 upcharge for both units is absolutely INSANE. they didn't keep up the property so what is the money going to?! There was absolutely no reason to raise it THAT much on both units. I would suggest going somewhere else. My fiance got a text letting him know about the price increase, I didn't.... So when I had to pay $250 instead of $200 last month, I was pretty upset. The unit in his name went from $150 to $210. They need to figure out how to cut cost in other places instead of requiring their customers to cover it all... Or they won't have very many customers left sooner than later. Go anywhere else other than here. Right down the road there is another storage place, I can't remember the name but Kim is the manager and she is FANTASTIC. one of the best people we've worked with since moving to Beaufort. ... Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at FreeUp Storage - 240 Savannah Hwy include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, 24 hour access, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Online Payment and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
