I'm a strong supporter of small family-owned businesses, but when they treat me poorly, I can't continue my support. Unfortunately, that's what occurred with Safeguard Mini Storage. The previous manager was understanding and cared about customers, even though she could be a bit distant at times. However, the new manager they hired is extremely unpleasant and disrespectful. Her attitude when answering calls makes you feel like a burden, and she's selective about waiving late fees. This situation impacted all customers, but she only helps some. The owners share the same lack of compassion and are quick to judge. They don't return calls and aren't willing to cooperate with loyal customers. I would strongly advise against renting from them. It's better to explore other options. ... Read more

I desperately urge every tenate of this storage location to read their contract again, as the owners will not compensate you in any way if something happens to your unit. The back half of the ceiling FELL OUT of my grandmas storage unit and they DID NOTHING FOR HER. If the storage units burn down and its their fault, they won't compensate you in any way as per the contract. They don't offer or require insurance, they don't maintain their buildings, there's always random nails laying on the ground outside of the entrance/exit doors to their unit buildings. It's not worth the cheap rent if you care about customer service or a feeling of safety for your items. Just to reiterate, the back half of the ceiling entirely fell out of my grandmas storage unit, sending dust, nails, and white particles everywhere. They are doing nothing about it as per the contract which states they are not liable for anything ever, no matter who's at fault or if its an unforeseen event. So much for family owned business that cares about customer service right? Re-read sections 4, 6, and 12 of the contract if you care about the safety of your items when stored away. There's no temperature control and the ceilings are literally falling out. You can find a modern storage location with everything they don't provide for the same price, just $15 more for insurance... is that worth protecting everything you have in the unit? I think so. Safegard Mini Storage is not worth it if you care about customer service of the safety of your items once stored away. ... Read more

The office person is so rude & obstinate. She sits with her back to the customer yelling out closing the unit questions in a rude tone while she types on her keyboard. After all questions are answered she rides her little golf cart to the unit to make sure you didn’t just lie to her. Did I mention she makes you wait outside, in the hot sun, while she runs off in her golf cart? Then (as mentioned in below comments) I was refused a refund of 29 days of rent, which she rudely stated “Read the contract, there is no pro-rating”. This isn’t the first bad encounter I’ve had with the ‘staff’. I will never rent here again & will tell everyone not to. ... Read more

Great pricing, friendly/helpful staff, and super affordable storage for the Portland area. They didn't even make me come back in person to close out my account after I moved (which would've been inconvenient), they emailed me the forms and I scanned them back. Super awesome! Highly recommend! ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Safegard Mini Storage - 10585 SW Greenburg Road include the following amenities: Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Onsite Manager, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 20 to 600 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Safegard Mini Storage - 10585 SW Greenburg Road start from $40 and can go up to $500 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
