After providing a five star review in July for the Public Storage in Tigard Oregon on Pacific Highway, the customer service that I had initially received took a nose-dive straight downward! I am re-posting to spare future customers a less than optimal experience. Everything started out well and I posted a nice review stating that. Less than 2 weeks after renting, they tried to bill me in advance for the following month and I had only been a customer for 8 days. Next, I signed up for the 2nd month free promotional offer which they run all the time and they did not honor it. Also, I called and spoke to at least five different managers at the storage unit to resolve my concerns and escalate it to the Regional Manager. While they seemed to empathize with my situation, none of them provided results. The Regional Manager NEVER called, emailed or text me even one time to provide any clarity to the situation. They showed me that after they got my money, they could have cared less about me as a customer. A simple phone call explaining why I was being billed when I was expecting a free month based on the internet promotion would have sufficed. Needless to say, i removed my items from the storage unit and left it cleaner than when I entered it. Thank goodness I removed my card from autopay because not only did Public Storage try to bill me the following month even though I moved out well before the end of the previous month. . . They sent me a threatening email about pushing me to collections!! Mind you, it was less than 1 week into the following month AFTER I moved out. I kindly replied back to their email letting them know that my attorney would be speaking to them next if the harassment didn't stop as I had time and date stamped pictures (in addition to a phone call from the property manager the day I moved out) confirming I had vacated the unit. My advice to anyone reading this post is DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH PUBLUC STORAGE. THEY LACK INTEGRITY AND ONLY CARE ABOUT TAKING YOUR MONEY AND NOT HONORING THE ONLINE PROMOTIONS THAT HOOK YOU. You mean NOTHING to them as a customer and there are many other storage facilities around with competitive pricing and clean units to store your personal belongings. ... Read more

Tenants leave random trash out side your unit or food and or cigarette butts, shells to nuts, people smoke on the property and I have seen cars being worked on in units mainly the first row! Place does not appear monitored like it should be makes you feel nervous to have your stuff here what’s the point of it being gated if no one cares what goes on! Also rent goes up fast and dramatically high increases! ... Read more

After deciding to start clearing out, we came back to find *all* of our belongings covered in rat waste. Much had to be outright thrown away. When we tried calling about it, we just got a representative who said there was nothing that anyone with Public Storage could do but that we would still have to pay for everything and would have to pay even more if we didn't get everything out in time (knowing it was all soiled and most of it couldn't be kept). Looking at other reviews, I see they've been told about the rats for years and have given the canned "we're sorry for your bad experience, we'll forward this to the team" response, but change nothing. Of course, if they think you still owe them some chump change from when you left, they'll gladly hop on that issue. That, coupled with the rent increase complaints, tells me they're content as long as the money keeps flowing in. I'm beginning to think rats themselves are who run the place. It would explain a lot. ... Read more

Rent raised after just 4 months by 80 bucks! I killed 14 rats in that time as well. No matter what I did there was rat poop all over the place. I moved to a better storage unit facility and I would recommend you do too. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Public Storage - 13473 SW Pacific Hwy include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Credit Cards Accepted, Elevators, First Floor Access, Online Payment and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 300 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Public Storage - 13473 SW Pacific Hwy start from $39 and can go up to $323 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
