are currently cleaning out our storage unit due to multiple items that have been completely chewed through & pooped on by rats & mice. We will be meeting with our lawyer to discuss further steps. This is absolutely unacceptable & dangerous!! I have cancer & shouldn't have to worry that going to our storage unit is highly dangerous for my health! Adding to this situation, is the thousands of dollars of items that have been completely ruined do to the damage of our items! We have used storage units in several cities & have never dealt with this problem & management is unwilling to listen , respond or properly address the enormous issue! DO NOT RENT FROM HERE! ... The booking online works great from a computer, but not so great if you are using a smartphone. I ended up calling the posted number on their website for help. Megan did a great job answering my questions. ... Read more

Great place to hold your things! We were downsizing my in-laws and needed several storage units for them and one for us to be able to bring back family treasures, furniture and keep sakes. Easy to get in and out of. Plenty of carts to use to help on loading and unloading.... Great sizes to choose from at a very fair price. Great working with the staff to set it all up and they really helped us get several units all right next to each other. Make things very easy... Thanks! Five star all the way. ... Read more

Scam. Absolutely a scam. I signed up for a unit online. Did everything I suppose to do. They gave me my unit number. Great. But they never gave me the code. I have been calling them for months trying to get the code. I called today to cancel my lease and get a refund they hung up on me. Don't waste your time!!! ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at West Salem Storage - 650 NW 2nd Street include the following amenities: Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Unstaffed Location, Parking, Online Payment and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
