Read some helpful reviews of South Salem Mini Storage at 5585 Commercial Street SE, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

I had my stuff in a unit and I just moved out of one of them, and alot of my stuff had mice pee and poop everywhere. They had a sign up inside unit stating rodent control. When I told management she stated that there are rat traps outside units. I still have a unit there and I'm hoping when i go there in a few days there's no mice stuff. My mattress got chewed, and couch, plus s few other things. FYI. Always get insurance. ... Read more

I rented a unit I went there to put my stuff no one answered the phone or buzzer I was at the gate for 20 minutes trying. So when I got ahold of someone I told them I was cancelling the unit since I can't get on the property. They told me I had to do a30 days notice to vacate the unit n pay that months fee. They r a crooked business. I won't tell anyone to go there ... Read more

Apparently they have no care for security or due diligence. Our unit was ransacked 6+ weeks ago and we never were once contacted about it. The female working was more concerned with her child on her lap than taking me seriously. Our unit was broken into before once but I had trusted her empty promises. She casually mentioned that there was a police case open and they were *GOING* to install cameras.. Lost the AC units needed to cool my newborn child so that's pretty horrible ?? Excuse me when I say they probably do not care about anyone else's units most likely. Simple greed and laziness is the way of things at this location. ... Read more

AWFUL!!!!! My mother has been paying for a storage unit there for the last 5 years. She recently moved to Arizona to live with me and I’ve been trying to add my brother who lives in Salem to her account so he can clean out her unit. The lady working there refuses to help me and states that I have to come in physically to add him to the account..even though I live out of state and my mother is too elderly and frail to travel! She is rude, unhelpful, and I would absolutely NEVER recommend this joke of a business! ... Read more

AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. Arrived at my locker on 9/25/2021 to find that my lock was cut and a number of items had been stolen. The manager told me that someone has been cutting locks and stealing items out of lockers since June. They say that they are not responsible and will not offer any compensation for my losses. They have no security system and clearly no control over the business. I had a locker here for 5 years and always thought it was a good place, but the lady who ran it apparently passed away earlier this year and it has clearly gone downhill since. I strongly recommend that you find somewhere else to store your possessions as they are not safe here. ... Read more

Storage units available at South Salem Mini Storage - 5585 Commercial Street SE include the following amenities: Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Onsite Manager, Security Camera, Gate and Parking. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 300 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by South Salem Mini Storage - 5585 Commercial Street SE start from $70 and can go up to $220 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
