So I expect an increase in fees every year for a storage facility but Public Storage hasn't even owned the Glen Creek Rd NW site in West Salem a year and they just raised my rate over 25% !!! wow.. I don't have anything to complain about the site itself but be aware.. when you sign up for your great intr rate rest assured the rate will go up and up and up . And what do you bet it'll go up again before a year goes by. Be aware of this business.. If you know another place to go you might save yourself some $$ ... Read more

Hello and good afternoon, without going into a lot of detail, I had to help my girlfriend out recently grab a storage unit. She had some family crisis that caused her to have to pack up all of her belongings right away. With such a short time span of having to move, we were desperate to find a good storage unit. We were blessed enough to come across this one. As soon as we walked into the office we were greeted by a nice lady named Vicky. She greeted us with a warm smile and made us feel very welcome. She explained about the storage units and what the facility has to offer to where I didn't have any questions. She was great with her customer service. I just wanted to reach out and say thank you so much. It was such a stressful day for me and my girlfriend. So many tears shed that day and Vicky really helped. She was able to bring a smile to our face and even a few chuckles with some great jokes. Thank you so much for employing such a wonderful person. I highly recommend this place to everyone. Thank you again so much. ... Read more

I won a storage unit from this place and I was excited because I got a good deal from the auction. When I took a box out of the storage unit, mouse or rat poop fell to the ground.. I searched a little more for evidence and it had mouse poop everywhere. I refused to empty this unit because mouses carry deadly viruses called Hantavirus. You can get from mouse poop and pee, which is deadly. I was told that I would not be allowed to auction another unit.. The guy told me that this unit had been there for eight months unpaid. So that means if you get a storage unit here and it sits for a long time without you going into it and visually checking it then you will eventually end up with mouses tearing into your boxes, pooping and peeing all over your personal items. What kind of storage unit thinks it’s OK to sell units on an auction site that are infested with mice poop and mice pee. They should be paying somebody to empty out storage units that have mouse and pee. A report to the city of Salem will be made. Shame on any storage unit that sells units in auctions infested with dead mice, mice poop, and pee in the unit all over the items. Honestly, anybody selling a unit full of mouse pee and poop should be a shame of themselves and should also fear that by selling these units you’re risking the lives of people. ... Read more

We needed to move to a smaller unit at this facility and Jennifer (who is amazing!!) helped make it happen quickly (and on a weekend no less!). She was super flexible and patient helping us determine what would best fit our needs. She walked the property, gave us options and time to measure and decide. Working with her was an absolute pleasure! Thanks for your time and laughs this morning, Jennifer!!! ... Read more

West Salem facility. I THOUGHT I was getting my unit for the “$1 special.” Then a $29 administrative fee was added. Ok. Then a $19.99 lock fee was added. Ok. I guess. Then I get a $12.87 charge! Then I get a $1 credit!! I called the office to ask for an explanation. My first two calls went unanswered. Then I got a call from a young lady who wanted to help me. Her name was Jennifer. She was very friendly, told me I was really lucky to get the unit I did because of its condition and height and because she wanted to rent that very one! She spoke to me respectfully, professionally, and tried to convince me that I was paying for the difference between when I paid for the unit and the day I reserved it for, 5 days. I was so confused when we ended our conversation that I thought, “ well, maybe since I’m older, I’m just missing something!” I just couldn’t reconcile the explanation in my mind. So I went there and spoke to David, the one who helped me initially. He explained that I was paying the prorated amount to the end of my first month. I reserved my unit on Feb 28. I’m paid up to March 27. The $12.87 is what I owe for March 28-31! Ok. If you divide the monthly rate by the number of days in the month, it still doesn’t add up, but, ok. So the takeaway for me? A $1 special deal is really $49.95. I shouldn’t have reserved my unit for Feb 28. I should’ve waited a day and saved an additional $12.87. David and Jennifer are really nice people who work there. Jennifer is new. I understand being new on the job. It takes time and training to be able to give accurate information. Jennifer and David have customer service down. They do that good. Kudos to Jennifer. Kudos to David. Oh! The $1 credit? An honest mistake. Post script: After reading my review, David called and said he’d made a calculation error and I’m being charged for only two days the end of March. Having only 28 days in February really messed things up! So, as I told him, I’ll increase my stars to a five but only as it concerns the staff there. The rest of it was all so very confusing. On a positive note: the property and the unit I rented was very clean. ... Read more

I have been a customer here since before US Storage took over. While initially worried it might go downhill, I was happily mistaken. The site is clean and well cared for. There is plenty of room to maneuver trucks and trailers to every unit. The staff is helpful and friendly. On top of all that, their prices are very reasonable. You won’t go wrong storing your things here. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Public Storage - 350 Glen Creek Road NW include the following amenities: Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Truck Rentals, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Online Payment and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
