My lease was terminated early, two days after I paid, for an apparently unwritten rule. I was boning through some clothes too give to goodwill in my storage so I could make more room and I decided to try on a few things to see if they still fit or not. I closed my storage door to do so and when attendant made his rounds he said you can't be sleeping in the storage,. I told him I was not sleeping. He said we'll I need to come out of there. So I did and let shortly after. The next day I found a termination letter on my door. I spoke to somebody about it and was told that I had agreed to not be in my storage with for closed because I could be doing something nefarious when I signed my lease. I hasn't remembered reading that in the lease but said I understood. I then ask if they give out warnings because I had just moved in a month previous and was told no. I was told that I had to move out in two days. I did of course. But then I re-read my lease agreement and realized that I was not in violation of my agreement at all. Nowhere in my contract does it state that I can not be in the storage with the door closed. So no I'm Pissed. I also noticed in my lease that I was paying a service charge of 15 dollars extra for not having my own renters insurance for my belongings. The front desk explained it to me like this. If I don't have my own insurance, then I'm charged the service fee so I'm covered on there insurance because oregon requires all renters to be insured. But the fact is that in my lease northwest storage very specifically states that they are in no way insuring any of my belongings and I can't in any way file a claim through their insurance. SO WHY WAS I TOLD DIFFERENT AND WHY WAS I CHARGED MONEY FOR A SERVICE I WAS NOT ACTUALLY GETTING. THIS SOUNDS LIKE FRAUD TO ME. I CAN ONLY IMAGINE HOW MANY OTHERS ARE ALSO PAYING A SERVICE FEE FOR A SERVICE THEY ARE NOT RECORDING EITHER. SOUNDS LIKE A CLASS ACTIONS SUIT IN THE MAKING. I WOULD NEVER RENT FROM THIS PLACE AGAIN. Not only did they wrongfully terminate my lease after taking my rent that included an imaginary service I was charged for but I had to pay to get help to move everything in two days because i don't have a car right now then i had to pay for a new unit somewhere else. They cost me hundreds of dollars when everything was said and done. ... Read more

Office is randomly closed. When I have been able to get in, I've asked three separate times to change the email on the account. I'm assured it's done until I get a text letting me know I'm past due because I didn't get the email letting me know my bill was ready. ... Read more

We have used NW Self Storage for three years. When we moved here, we had a ton of things with us and had to put them into two big units. So I have been in and out a lot. Removing and reorganizing until I was down to a small unit. Their service has been excellent. It’s always really clean and I feel like it’s just a safe place to store my stuff. Just moved out today, and I wanted to make sure that they got credit for offering great service. I highly recommend them. ... Read more

Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 750 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Northwest Self Storage - 4345 Silverton Road NE start from $97 and can go up to $987 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
