This is by far the best place I’ve ever had a storage unit. Staff is very good with customer service and just good people in general. Very helpful and I have had nothing but good experiences with them. HIGHLY recommend this place specifically (alberta location) ... Read more

My favorite part of this new storage facility (new to me) I do not even have ti get out of my car. I can open the gate from my iPad and iPhone. My unit is conveniently located on the property for us to have easy access. We are so far very happy with our new property that we have moved to. Our old one was getting a lot of break-ins and it was very frustrating. Hoping that it wasn’t gonna be our unit next. Thanks public storage. ... Read more

Giving this place 2 stars because it technically works, but there are a lot of issues. There’s only one entrance to the entire facility, so unless you’re one of the few lucky ones with a unit near the door, you’ll end up carrying your stuff quite a distance. There’s just one cart, and it’s a bulky one with wheels that barely spin, which makes moving harder than it should be. The unit doors are made of cheap, composite wood—not something that inspires much confidence. It feels like the door would break more easily than the lock. There’s no assigned parking—the only way to park close enough to access the building is in front of someone’s outside unit, and you just have to hope the owner doesn’t need it while you’re there. The gate setup is also awkward. The key fob reader to exit is off to the side, so you can’t just drive out; you either have to reverse or get out of your car to reach it. Check-in isn’t smooth either—you have to go through the office, which is sometimes closed even during office hours, so you need to set an appointment. If the price is right, it’s usable. But overall, it’s not a good storage unit. The office staff are wonderful. It’s just not a great storage unit. ... Read more

Edit 3/18: My unit was broken into within 40 days of renting here. Unit was violently trashed and tons of our belongings stolen— just a complete nightmare altogether. Debbie said they would only cooperate with Police Dept in regards to footage/specific details. It’s disheartening, on top of an already damaging and debilitating situation for us. Extremely disappointing experience. ... Read more

I'm going through a rough patch and am having a few issues with my unit as I'm trying to move my things out but have lost my unit keys. I came here to talk to someone in person and meet the angel Debbie. She was wonderful and helped me with what I needed. I couldn't have asked for a better service experience. 10 out of 10 would come here again! ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Public Storage - 1621 NE 71st Avenue include the following amenities: Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Keyless Unit Access, Elevators, First Floor Access, Multi-Level Storage and Online Payment. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 200 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Public Storage - 1621 NE 71st Avenue start from $46 and can go up to $178 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
