Read some helpful reviews of Northwest Self Storage at 3510 NE Columbia Blvd, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

DO NOT MOVE YOUR SUFF HERE. NOT SAFE!! Run away. Super dangerous and full of drug users and dealers. I would like to leave a -100 stars but Google doesn’t give me that option. Don’t rent here, I was told by other tenants that there were several break-ins and the manager didn’t even bother, telling us. This place is the absolute worst scummy storage unit around. The manager, Jimmy doesn’t give a crap about any of the tenants. There was a break-in in September that had six units broken into, I asked the manager, Jimmy if I could get the surveillance videos for my insurance claim, no response, all he said was so sorry your units got broken into you. When I received the police report, in their police report, they said that the manager Jimmy did not wanna come out of his house that he lives on site to help the police with the break-in of six units they finally made him come out to unlock the other units. He lets people live there in the units. He lets people park weirdly in other areas. There are always strange people walking around that don’t even have storage units in, he doesn’t care. I tried calling the main headquarters for this storage unit and no answer. No one cares. I moved into a large 15 x 30 unit and the cost was $365 a month and now it’s $800. I recently moved out down the street to a similar size unit for $500 and they gave me a break for paying six months in advance by 15% off. ... Read more

My storage unit got broke into! The only one that was broken into out of all the units!! And guess what I found my stuff and in the unit right next door to mine! Had 2 different locks and one wasnt locked! Unit 80 B building in hall 6. There is a bunch or random stuff! If any one is missing anything. Moved and told manager I found my stuff next door to mine. His response with no facial feature at all was “I will notify the tenant.” Shady BS ... Read more

I made a reservation. I drove 35 minutes with car full of stuff with the intent of following through with what communicated to me. I have money. And I was on time. The person suppsed to be in the office is working on his car and told me he wasnt going to be in the office. The hours on the building say they are open. The call center tells me the office is open. And the guy was super rude and totally messy and obviously isnt a decent mechanic. I can tell as a proffesional engineer. Tools all over the ground and super rude. I do not reccomend this storage facility at all. ... Read more

The manager , Jimmy is always very helpful and polite. He keeps the grounds clean. Also there is not any undesirable people just hanging around. Which was a problem at my last storage. I would recommend this storage facility to my friends. ... Read more

I’ve been renting here for a little over 2 years. And in that amount of time I’ve encountered break-in situations very close to my unit. However on Labor Day, my storage unit along with several others were broken into. The insurance that they provide is a joke. Mind you there’s an on site manager that lives on the premises with a dog . I was not even notified my unit was broken into until I discovered my 2 locks completely missing a day later. (Insurance will deny you a burglary if the locks are missing)….I've encountered so many people living in the storage units and always have to report it…… go down the street to the other storage units, way more secured ... There is a live-in manager on the property, I am so sorry I'm spacing his name- but he is extremely kind, helpful and attentive. It feels like there's an extra layer of safety at this particular place because of the live-in manager, unlike most self-storage facilities who rely solely on security cameras, which can only be accessed so quickly, even if there is an emergency that would require immediate attention (break ins, fire, etc). Ground level + drive up units = no elevators or narrow, maze-like hallways, make it much easier to load and unload your belongings. Lastly, as a night owl, I especially appreciate the access hours of 8am-10pm. ... Read more

I had an amazing experience from beginning to end. Started my reservation online which is locked in my special rate and then finished at the office. I love being able to speak to someone face to face and have an office to go to to see someone in person. The whole experience was excellent, and very quick and efficient. I think I went from researching the unit, to completing the web form, to going in the office and finishing in the contract all within less than an hour. The units are very secure. Much more secure than public space or extra space( that are literally just up the road.) And they're open until 10:00 p.m. and open up at 6:00 a.m. (unlike public storage nearby). I highly recommend them. An excellent experience. Thank you so much for redeeming the reputation of storage units!! ... Read more

I started coming to Northwest storage about a year ago. this is an amazing place it's always clean the security is very well there. There's a on-site manager that keeps things in order. It's a safe place to come to store your personal Items. Jimmy is the on-site manager of this facility very nice gentleman he's always in a good mood. He's always calm and courteous and helps you work through filling out the paperwork to get a storage unit here and any information that you need about how to do it or help with your locks anything that you need to ask about a storage unit he is the guy to go to. As far as pricing goes this is the best deal in Portland you're not going to find a better place to have a storage unit the prices are more than reasonable in today's market for renting a storage unit. I would recommend Northwest self-storage to anybody I know that wants to rent a storage unit. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Northwest Self Storage - 3510 NE Columbia Blvd include the following amenities: Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Multi-Level Storage and Online Payment. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 30 to 480 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Northwest Self Storage - 3510 NE Columbia Blvd start from $44 and can go up to $616 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
