RATS RUINED MY STUFF. RENTERS BEWARE!! I have had a rental here for four years, always paid no problems until I went in the other day, and found my unit covered in rat pee and feces! I had 5 dead huge rats in there, and when I asked for them to handle it, I was told, "Oh well, you should have insurance it's not our problem. They are so dirty and nasty here that other storage facilities won't even take your things from here... Thousands of dollars and special things ruined. If you value your stuff, DO NOT BRING IT HERE! save your things and your money and go somewhere else. The management is rude and only cares about money. Now I have to pay hundreds and spend days getting my things. This business is absolutely disgusting, and I am am shocked it's still in business. I will be reporting them to OSHA for their nasty working conditions. ... Read more

RENTERS BEWARE! My unit was covered in rat pee and poop today! Either you give me a refund and clean this up, or I will call the health department and turn you in for an unsanitary work environment. This is completely inexcusable!!! Thousands of dollars of stuff completely ruined from this neglect Update from today. I went in to discuss this with them, and all I got was well you didn't have insurance, so it's on you."" They were happy to take my money for years. She even treated to call the cops. This place is an absolute joke. NEVER DO BUSINESS HERE! UNLESS YOU WANT RATS!! I went to call other storage units, and they won't even take me because Newberg Storage has such a bad rep for being dishusting. Even the other local storage places know how nasty and horrible this business it. I wish I never put my things here. Baby clothes, bed, blankets, tv's all my stuff ruined. Things I can never replace because of this business. ... Read more

We have rented a space at Newberg Self Storage for over 8 years with no problems! After going there today to get our Christmas decor we will be quickly removing everything and finding a new location. Our unit is now infested by rats and much of our personal property damaged. It was a gross and disgusting mess. The manager was very apologetic, but offered no solutions or compensation. They were very aware that rodents had recently become a problem due to a renter leaving food in their unit. But, they did not inform us of the issue. We were told today that we should have rat traps inside our unit and contact our insurance company about compensation!! ... Read more

I've had my storage a little over a year and every single interaction... from the shopping for a storage to the taking posession of the unit, all my payment interactions and submitting my notice to move out have been AMAZING! I am seriously impressed with Kellie and how fair and reasonable her business practices are! I would recommend over and over again and know where I will return if necessary! ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Newberg Self Storage - 3701 Portland Road include the following amenities: Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Multi-Level Storage and Online Payment. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
