Read some helpful reviews of Extra Space Storage at 3250 NE 15th Avenue, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

This is a bait and switch business. The costs have gone up 2.5 times what they advertised. The state of New York is currently suing this company for this exact thing. Our storage unit is dusty, full of bugs and spiders and has water damage. They of course are not responsible for any damage. But why should we be responsible for leaking water? It’s not our facility or job to maintain the roof. I would not recommend this place at all. ... Read more

Convenient, friendly staff, easy to move in/out. Pricing was unpredictable. After speaking with staff it turns out that they can change the price whenever they feel like it as long as they "communicate with you via email or mail"... and then you can also negotiate the price. There is no option to sign a contract and continue on a stable monthly payment. My bill went up by $70+ dollars from one month to another (apparently they mailed something to me which I never saw) I was able to negotiate a different price but it was a really awkward conversation. I think I speak for a lot of people, we don't want to have to negotiate, we don't like surprise increases out of no where, I think most people are looking for a stable, reliable storage company, without any surprises. Would have gladly continued to be a customer but the unpredictability of the pricing is something that I could not work with. ... Read more

After I got the hang of using the key in the lock, it was very easy to use the digital gate entry and store things in both my units. The grounds were kept clean and neat and there was a friendly wave, coming and going. Renting each unit was quick and simple. Highly recommend. ... Read more

Positives: exceptionally clean, they kept the interior nice and cool, it was easy to get started, move out happened without a hitch, they had a fantastic staff that were cheerful, helpful, kind, thoughtful, and pleasant which made for a good experience. Negatives: 1. major billing problems with their auto-pay system that charged me multiple times in the same month and took months to finally get refunded for all the double-charges. I almost moved out over it and it was a major problem that forced me to turn off auto-pay for several months and required multiple calls to the local office and national office before things were finally resolved. This was no small issue as being erroneously charged multiple times over in the same month and having that money come straight out of my checking account jeopardized my ability to pay all my bills for a time. 2. Big price increases that happen seemingly at random and in huge increments. In 1 year they raised my rent multiple times and finally attempted to raise the price of my 10x10 to nearly double the starting price to over $200/mo. They agreed to reduce the size of the last increase which made me feel better about just having it go up by the amount it did in the final price hike. Final thoughts: This experience has made me realize that Oregon needs better laws protecting storage locker customers. There do not seem to be any controls whatsoever on how frequently they can raise your rent or by how much they can raise your rent. If you rent a locker to store your things while you are temporarily out of state, you are simply at their mercy unless you can fly/drive back for an emergency move to another facility. In 1 year you should not have to experience multiple rent hikes and an attempted rent hike that would have doubled your starting price. They have an incentive to get people in over their skis bc then they can auction off your belongings. It could have been an amazing experience thanks to the great staff, good climate control, great cleanliness, and the useful free carts they have available. The billing errors that were always in their own favor and took forever to correct and the frequent rent hikes that became pure greed in their size towards the end really left an impression. I would never rent from this corporation again, but would love to rent from the staff if they ever owned and operated their own facility someday. ... Read more

I will definitely be upgrading in the future. Hands down best place and easiest move in ever. Great customer service across the board. The drive up units are very convenient. I relocated from California, San Jose and looking for storage close to my location can be like falling down a rabbit hole. Not here. I could talk for days and thank you Extra Space for catering to the public. ... Read more

It was easy to sign up to rent a 10x10 storage space via the website. The storage space was clean. Once the app added the ability to open the front gate via Bluetooth, the storage unit was really easy to access. My only problem came when scheduling my move out date, via the website. It seemed easy at first, but everytime I submitted it, the website reported an error. So I tried 4 times before giving up. However, the next day I got emails saying my move out was confirmed. So it must have went through, in spite of the errors. ... Read more

After notifying Extra Space Storage about my intent to vacate the unit, they still charged me a full months rent for 5 days of storage after the new billing month started. When I asked for a prorated refund, I was initially flat out denied a refund and then given the runaround about who to contact to escalate my complaint. When I finally managed to successfully request the prorated refund, the refund I received was less than it should have been. ... Read more

Clean, accessible, with reasonable prices and helpful courteous staff. Only possible negative is trailers renting parking spaces can challenge distance allowed to park from certain units. Maybe bring a dolly or offer a loaner from the office? ... Read more

Well run. Clean and friendly, helpful staff. Karen was great with our recent move. Only complaint is the pricing. It starts with a great discount rate that expires after 3-6 months and is followed by regular and significant price raises every few months. If you are thinking of long term storage here, be prepared to see the costs go up and up. ... Read more
Stephen W. - 12 January 2025
After about four months, I was notified that my rate was going to nearly double. That’s apparently their business model: advertise a low price, then once you move a bunch of stuff in, jack your rate way up, because most people will keep paying instead of dealing with the hassle of moving everything somewhere else. I could almost understand doing that after a year (storage lockers are generally not a permanent thing, after all), but after only four months?! Just give me a fair initial rate that goes up slowly with inflation. No games! ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Extra Space Storage - 3250 NE 15th Avenue include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, 24 hour access, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Online Payment and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 440 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Extra Space Storage - 3250 NE 15th Avenue start from $53 and can go up to $356 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
