I have been a customer of this facility for many years now. I love it. The on site manager is on top of everything. He keeps it clean and I've never had any issues with my unit. You may not be able to pay the bill online but you can call him and pay it by phone. Which, in my opinion , is so much better. Thank you for more than 10 years of keeping my belongings safe. Went in today to rent a unit. The man was very unprofessional. He started in about how we can’t rent the unit for anyone else or frequent there. Ok I get that, I’m moving stuff outta my house so my son can move in. He was nervous and began targeting my husband. Then claimed my husband was on some type of do not rent. Absolutely a fact not true! He has never rented a unit in his life. I was so angry I finally left. I was treated as some kind of criminal. I work with the public every day all day and this is not how you act. I would suggest if you want to clean the place up get rid of the problem and start with the people that work at your front desk ... Read more

Nice secure place and Jeff is a very friendly, helpful, and efficient operations manager. The owners are lucky to have him! Please note: all of the negative reviews were posted before Jeff took over as the manager. ... Read more

If horrible customer service by an old couple with a self important attitude are your thing, here's your place! The attitude is unreal. I'm not sure if they are the owners or just managing, but man alive they have better things to do than greet you with a friendly smile! She's rude and snarky. And he just sits there glaring at you. Not welcoming in the slightest. We'll be taking our business elsewhere. Oh and don't bother looking for a website to make online payments. These dinosaurs definitely can't handle that. ... Read more

I would absolutely give this place zero stars if possible. The lady in the front has been condescending since my first interaction with her. When you go into to make a payment, she acts as if you are bothering her. If you follow her rules (she is serious about her long list of rules) than you are likely to get locked out at the gate when you have multiple vehicles. She gripes that you cannot tailgate when entering the units, and that you have to enter your storage unit and pass code each and every time. When we did this, the second person was locked out, and then he went to ask her what was up and she treated him like sh** and acted like it was all his fault. Other times when I go in to make my payments, if I used a credit card (which I do for the rewards) she would comment about how financially irresponsible it was to use credit cards for reoccurring payments. My last big contention from the start of service, was when I was signing the lease agreement, she decided to lecture me about how important it is to make "my rent payments" and if I didn't she wouldn't take any leniency on me because of my age. As a young person, she came across as ageist from that second forward. She even commented how "your generation is irresponsible and than thanks its everyone who is responsibility to pick up the pieces". The only good part of this place was when I vacated, all because I will not have to interact with the people anymore! ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Cottage Grove Mini Storage - 1520 Highway 99 include the following amenities: Drive-Up Access, Onsite Manager, Gate, Parking and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
