Read some helpful reviews of Northwest Self Storage at 1239 SE 1st Avenue, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

DO NOT RENT HERE OR YOU WILL BE RIPPED OFF MONTH AFTER MONTH. IT'S VERY SCAMMY AND THEY SEEM TO BE OK TAKING ADVANTAGE OF CANBY RESIDENTS. They are horrible. They have tiny print in the contract (read the whole thing) that says they can change your payment from month to month. They have raised out rates many, many times and now we just got another one, and we havent even been with them for a year. Its horrible and customer service could care less. We are giving notice and leaving as soon as we find another unit. I had storage in Canby years ago and never had any problems so its just this company. IT'S VERY SCAMMY AND THEY SEEM TO BE OK WITH THAT. They should be ashamed and no wonder they have 1 star. If I could give them less, I would. ... Read more

Friendly, knowledgeable, very helpful office staff. Clean units and driveways. Reasonably priced. The offer first month for only $29.00 administration fee. Located right in the middle of town. If you have to call customer service they are very helpful, and friendly. ... Read more

Thank you, Michael for all your help. Your customer service, and attention to answer all my questions were platinum! I haven’t rented a space before, it was easy and very affordable. I’m looking forward to enjoying more space in my home knowing I can rent a space that’s close to my home, and safe for my personal belongings. ... Read more

Terrible company, is only interested in bait-and-switch pricing to generate new customers, at the expense of existing renters. I rented a unit there for just under a year. Two rent increases in that time. Meanwhile, a unit the same size on THEIR OWN WEBSITE rents for less than half of the $105 these guys are trying to charge me. I moved my stuff across town to another storage company. ... Read more

Update as of 10/01/24: We had just made our second payment on our storage unit when we got a notice saying that they were increasing our unit price by $60! A 30% increase! The notice said “occasionally we have to increase rates”. We swiftly cancelled and moved our stuff elsewhere. So far, this has been a great place to have a storage unit! Our new unit was clean, the indoor temperature (indoor unit) was also great! Michael was fabulous to talk to and super helpful! I also really loved being able to complete the reservation online. It was straightforward and we were able to get into our unit the next day. Wonderful :) ... Read more

Storage units available at Northwest Self Storage - 1239 SE 1st Avenue include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Online Payment and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 50 to 390 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Northwest Self Storage - 1239 SE 1st Avenue start from $97 and can go up to $436 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
