We arrived to move in on Tuesday March 11, 2025 at about 11AM (well within their posted business hours of 10-6PM). I had hired someone to help me. When we got there the office was locked up and dark. I did not think it was a big deal, because I had a unit number and a gate code. There was a paper note on the door with a local number to call in case there were problems. We got inside the fence, but my unit was an inside unit, and no one provided me with a door code to get into the building to access my unit. So, I went back to the office. Still no one was there but there was a dog barking inside. I called the number on the note on the door, but the property manager did not answer and the call was transferred to a call center. The person on the phone did try to call the on site manager to get a door code, but also could not get ahold of the on site property manager, and the person on the phone did not have the door code. They told me that the on site property manager was “with another customer” (the office was dark) and had to leave a message. I was assured someone would call me back immediately, and that the on site manager was just assisting another customer, but no one ever called me back. I called the number on the door again, and was, again transferred to a call center. I spoke to another person who again tried to call the on site manager, but had no luck. Finally, after being on hold for another 10 minutes or so, she gave me a door code to try. IT WORKED and we got into the unit. This entire process took about an hour, during which I was still paying someone to help me move. Unfortunately, the unit had those little plastic and wire door "locks" on them. The woman on the phone told me to just cut them off, if I could find some wire cutters. Thankfully, I had some in my truck and got into the unit. We got it all packed and went to leave. When we pulled up to the gate to leave, the gate did not open and the keypad on the inside by the gate would not work and the big gate to access the lot would not open. The "on site" manager was still no where to be found and we were all locked INSIDE the lot. Our mover had to climb the security fence and negotiate the barbed wire on the road side fence and use the outside keypad so we could get out. My daughter came back a few minutes later with a padlock for the door (I was hoping to buy one on site), and SHE ALSO GOT LOCKED INSIDE. She called the phone number, and the nice customer service agent agreed that she should climb the security fence to get out. Despite calling several times, and being assured I would get a call back, it is now the next day and still....nothing. Now I am going to have to hire someone else to help me move, rent the trailer again, and repack every thing in order to move to another storage facility. I have cancelled the storage contract, rented another storage unit, rented another truck and hired another mover. I tried to call the phone number listed in the reply from NSA below. No one answered until it went back to the call center. ... Read more

Worst storage experience I’ve ever had. The property manager is never there during the working hours she should be, and never there when I’ve called or showed up and needed assistance, so I emailed to make sure I wouldn’t be charged on the next billing cycle because I was moving out of the unit, got confirmation I wouldn’t be charged, and I still was charged $200+ on the next billing cycle even after letting her know I no longer needed it. Not to mention the reason for leaving was because I’d been locked INSIDE the facility as well as locked OUTSIDE of it more than once, with no communication to me as to why and with no prop manager onsite to figure out a solution. I’ve had to call corporate more than once and there weren’t even notes or anything left on my account for them to reference to figure out why. I’m literally on the phone with corporate right now and they can’t even get ahold of her to verify I’m out of the unit. Avoid this place. Go literally anywhere else. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Northwest Self Storage - 100 SE 3rd Street include the following amenities: Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Truck Rentals, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Online Payment and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 50 to 300 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Northwest Self Storage - 100 SE 3rd Street start from $159 and can go up to $448 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
