Angela and Chastity make this business what it is today. I was in a severe time crunch to move. I called them, they not only beat their competitor's prices, they gave me the best deal ever! There were some mishaps along the way, but they worked out the bugs for me, all in just 1 hour. I cannot thank them enough for helping me in my time of desperation. God Bless these women for helping me! PENSKE RULES! ... Read more

I am writing this review because I am doubtful that you will read about this in the local papers and as of last week no police report was filed by the owner. I only find it fair that people know as most storage unit break ins go un-reported. I was contacted a week ago by the local management that my unit had been broken into. The incident occurred over the weekend of February 16-17th. According to the local management someone breached the perimeter fencing, then broke into a camper being stored on site, then started hitting storage units. My unit is not even an outside facing unit, you must go into a hallway to reach it. The perpetrators breached an outside storage unit that was up for auction (had managements locks on it), once inside the unit they cut the chicken wire fence that leads to the rafters. The perpetrators then manage to hit another 11 units. I arrived onsite to see if anything was missing because local management identified items that must have come from my unit in the rafters. I filed a police report, but when the deputy had asked the local management if they had, she said she was waiting from instructions from the property owner. Not sure why a property owner would not want to make a report that someone cut your fence, then broke into several units on your property. I write this review as a warning of caution. If you have items being stored or are considering storing items at a storage facility, check your unit often for theft. Make sure what you are storing is not of great expense and is even worth storing. I do carry insurance but what was taken is not worth the deductible. However, I also thought with the fancy gate, locked inside unit, and video surveillance made safe, it doesn’t. In the end, the property is not liable for your property that you are entrusting their facility will keep safe. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Lock It Up Self Storage - 2780 West Hayes Avenue include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Truck Rentals, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Online Payment and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 600 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Lock It Up Self Storage - 2780 West Hayes Avenue start from $47 and can go up to $210 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
