Amber is very rigid in her customer service and not customer first in how she operates. She will not try to help you or problem solve to help you but only go by the book. Don’t look help if she’s sitting at the desk or anyone calls her with questions. As she claims, her “small” facility cannot accommodate things so make sure you unload everything the same day before booking here even if they tell you otherwise beforehand. Extremely Disappointed and Frustrated - A Company That Cheated Me and Cost Me Over $1,600! I’ve been renting a parking space in ExtraSpace’s outdoor lot for a few years, and while the experience started off relatively smooth, my recent encounter with them has been nothing short of a nightmare. After the initial 2-3 months, I noticed that their prices would double without notice, but I stuck with them because it was convenient. However, what has transpired recently has been beyond frustrating and financially devastating. I moved to Europe to take care of my elderly parents, and for the last three months, my car had been parked at their lot. I had to travel back to Euclid briefly to take care of some business, and everything seemed fine—until two months later, I received an email from ExtraSpace telling me I had to move my car by the end of the month. Here’s where it gets infuriating: I had just returned to Europe, and now I am expected to make another trip back to Cleveland just to move my car. To make matters worse, the cost of a flight back was over $1,000, plus I now had to book an Airbnb for the week until my return flight to Europe, and add the cost of Ubers between Euclid and the airport. That’s well over $1,600 out of my pocket—all because of a completely unreasonable demand from ExtraSpace. And to top it off, they are insisting I owe them the full $50 for part of the month, despite my situation! This is absolutely ridiculous! The lack of communication, the abrupt policy changes, and the complete disregard for my circumstances are inexcusable. I’m being forced to deal with a company that clearly has no understanding of how to treat its customers fairly or reasonably. People have suggested I take them to court, and honestly, I am seriously considering it. No one should be put in a situation like this. I’m deeply disappointed with ExtraSpace Storage and would never recommend them to anyone. They’ve cost me time, money, and a lot of unnecessary stress. We rented an outdoor space to store our new camper at the end of January. Everybody was very nice and eager to take our money that we pre-paid for a year including the $30 administration fee. This is guaranteed money from every single customer regardless of how many times you rent. Every storage place charges this fee and it is ridiculous. When we had our trailer delivered, the driver hit another trailer with our trailer damaging our awning. Our camper was at this facility for 3 days. General RV came, picked up the trailer so the space was not occupied. They were completely aware of the situation because the driver spoke with them and we did too. We received a call at the beginning of March from the facility stating the city of Euclid no longer would allow Extra Space Storage to have outdoor storage. Fine. We had to find another space. We were told we would be receiving a check for the balance of what we paid up front. I called today, 3/26 asking after 3 weeks, when we could expect our refund. Amanda told me that they just processed the return and to expect a refund to our credit card within 7-10 days. Our trailer had only been there for 3 DAYS! We were charged two full months. WHY? I called and told them that the trailer was picked up. They knew it has not been there. Conveniently, they have no record that we called. I asked why this happened and Amanda got very defensive and told me she was just following the rules from the instructions they received from the City of Euclid. She knew none of the details and told me I could call the city and ask them. She will not refund the $30 Admin Fee, or give us the money back for the month of March. Again, the trailer has never been back on their property. Very frustrated with them. I also asked for the name of Amanda's immediate supervisor and phone number. She gave me a first name, no phone, no email. Why????? It is really a shame that companies don't care about customers and the hard earned money they spend at their facilities. It's a total of $81.00.
