IF I COULD LEAVE NEGATIVE STARS I WOULD. BEWARE Absolute horror of an experience. The company is terrible from start to finish. They intentionally overcharged me for two months rent instead of one, and lie to their customers about refunding a lock in order to sell that lock again to the next victim. CH 1 THE FIRST PHONE CALL My experience began with a seemingly normal phone call to get setup and everything seemed normal at that point. They were one of the first companies to show up on google and was advertised as one of the cheapest. I called a few days before I wanted the storage unit... but when all was said and done, they set the start date as the day I called and not the day I told them I wanted to move in. This forced me to pay two months rent instead of one. After realizing this, I called customer service, they did not rectify the issue. I had to call multiple times and each of those times was given different answers. One person even told me that their boss would talk to me if I called back in 30 minutes. I then called back 30 minutes later and it was the same person who I just spoke to, and they proceeded to tell me that there is no boss. They simply wasted a lot of my time. Finally one of the customer service agents said they could create a credit for the extra days. I verbalized to her many times and asked to verify that I would not have to pay a second months rent... Then when the billing date for the second month came there was a bill! Instead of only having to pay 1 months rent, they just prorated the extra days off of the second month (which only made it around $6 cheaper). I called to ask about it and the guy told me there was nothing they could do and hung up on me. CH 2 MOVING OUT Circling back to the first phone call to book my storage, they told me about how they charge a refundable $19.99 for the lock. I was told that when you move out you return the lock and get refunded. When moving out, I returned the lock, and waited a few days expecting my refund. When I never received a refund I called, and was told that they processed my refund and would be getting it in 3-5 business days... two weeks later and still no refund. I then called back and was told that "nobody processed your refund and you're not getting one because the lock was used." I asked what they do with the locks then because they took my lock and are not refunding me for it. They assured me they aren't reusing the locks, but they are. The lock I was given was already used. It came as just a lock and key sitting on the ground in the unit (no packaging). This scum of a company charges people for a lock with the lie that they'll refund you so that when you return the lock they can sell it to their next victim. ... Read more

Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 300 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Public Storage - 6401 Busch Blvd start from $42 and can go up to $165 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
