Recent change in management has resulted in abysmal customer service. The office on site is perpetually closed and my calls are rerouted to a call center, where they can’t answer my questions about whether there will be office staff again at any point in time. The last time I was at my unit, the extremely janky door almost took my head off when it fell on me as I exited, which was observed by a maintenance worker. I was told not to return to the unit alone because of the poorly functioning unit door, but no maintenance has been scheduled and again, there is no staff on site. I’m not going to pay for a unit I literally can’t access until they do their part, and was sent a default notice after my payment had been 19 days past due (in an attempt to get them to take the safety concerns seriously). I was informed I could only make the payment via cash or money order, which was sent to me July 24th. Showed up at the office yesterday and with zero notice the office was closed (and seems to be closed indefinitely, as there’s a sign stating “all packages return to sender” as well). Again, can only get someone in a call center on the phone who doesn’t seem to understand the situation, and I was told they do not accept cash or money orders. Please explain how I was told to pay this way seven days ago (while also being told all of my belongings will be sold at auction if I do not pay this way by August 3rd) and suddenly it’s not a viable payment option. I am furious and heartbroken that it seems I have no recourse to remedy this issue before the deadline due to the absence of ANY communication about these changes from the new management, and all of my sentimental belongings will now be gone. Just really, really gross behavior from the new management. I never had an issue until trying to close my unit. This is definitely the cheapest storage unit option around. But now I’m trying to close it since I no longer need it and I don’t think anyone actually works in the office. I came up at 1030 to do it and the office was closed even though online and on the door it says 9. So I left and did some shopping. I came back an hour later and the open sign was on. But the door was locked. I pressed the call button and nobody answered. Rang the door bell. Knocked. And called the office number 6 times. As I was standing out in 90 degree weather with my one year old on my hip. No answer from any of it. Don’t say your office will be open if there’s nobody there actually working. Pretty ridiculous. ?? fact! Manger running/living on the property would put lock on unit if not payed by 1st. Yes I get payed the Friday after 1st. (Payed biweekly) I always payed, well then he told my wife he would not expect payment from her anymore had to be me, their closed when I'm done with work so that Saturday he had sold and removed my entire life, 20y family history .
