The review about the rat infestation is correct. The photos are from the facility and we have also encountered this problem. There have been rat traps placed in the last couple months but zero notice to customers. Instead, they’ve inexplicably raised the rent 2x in 8 months. Really poor business practices. You won’t have a record of me because the contract is in my partners name, but we are cancelling. EDITED TO RESPOND: How can I get in touch with you when you don’t employ enough people for there to be someone at the front desk most of the day? And I sat outside trying to ring your automated system for 20 min to no avail. You raised prices twice and the infrastructure got worse? And the lovely people who do work for you are not only understaffed, but under paid. They didn’t get raises, we asked. So why did you? ... Read more

He was very informative and knowledgeable of what they had available and what might fit my needs best. He took us on a quick tour to showcase the unit sizes. I quickly figured out what suited me best. The overall process was quick and hassle free thanks to the professionalism displayed by Jawad. I find this facility of Storage Post to be the Hilton of storage! I especially like that it is always brightly lit, unlike other storage facilities which go dark if you’re not walking directly under the lights. The lights there are always on! Secondly, the staff members have always been courteous and helpful; most recently, Jawad was patient and willing to show multiple units in the same size so I could get a nice one with no columns or pillars. Jawad was willing to stay beyond the regular office hours, assisting me and another new customer in obtaining new units last week. Third, Storage Post is more fair with pricing than other facilities, with reasonable increases after longer periods of time, while some facilities (I won’t name names) increase prices by ridiculous percentages after only a few months. Lastly, I appreciate the hours of access from 6am to 10pm daily, while other facilities have much more limited hours, sometimes ending at 7pm, or even ridiculously at 4pm on Sundays. I have recommended this facility to friends from Manhattan and Queens, because the prices, hours of access and helpful staff make this a good choice for storage needs. ... Read more

Absolutely disgusting. My husband, Felix, went to our storage unit today to find piles of rat feces all over our belongings. There were bags of clothing chewed through and covered in feces!!!! Irreplaceable Christmas decorations and ornaments created by our children completely ruined. It was unbelievable. When he spoke to the manager Manny, Manny stated that it was not his problem and that the rat infestation started a few months ago. It is absolutely despicable that customers were not notified. We’ve been paying for a unit to hold our belongings and our belongings were in the unit completely ruined. While leaving our unit he discovered rat traps everywhere. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Storage Post - 620 Richmond Terrace include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Multi-Level Storage and Online Payment. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
