From first minute to last a bad decision . Day i moved in the entry code did not work. Though repair of system done didnt last long . Entry gate left open by owner for months so no security. Had unit on second floor . On one occasion code failed to open gate so I could not get out until someone opened gate from outside. Elevator never worked properly . Many trips had to carry heavy things up and down a flight of wooden stairs . Moved out . Carried everything out because Elevator still broken months later . Evident that may be homeless living in some of the units . Bad choice . ... Read more

If I could leave less than one star I would. This owner runs a shady outfit here. After asking several times how/when we would get our refund check for the month— he conveniently stopped responding. When my husband had an issue getting into the gate, their is NO attendant AND Jack is not responding by phone. We will be reporting him to the BBB if he does not get us our check back in a timely fashion. Absurd to run a business like this and the town has zero authority over it. Unprofessional and shady. RUN!!! ... Read more

The first time I used this facility I was unable to get into the units because there is no one on site and they use an automated gate system. After a few hours siting in my uhaul someone finally contacted me and the gate opened. Then once I removed my items out of storage I was trapped in the facility again while we waited for the owner to fix the problem. Eventually I was able to leave Now I am here with a friend who decided to use the storage facility and he is having the same issues. It’s been over and hour and now the police are here to help us get the gate open so we can get my friends belongings. I normally try to support local companies but when I read reviews and realize it is an ongoing issue that is ignored, I get frustrated. The emergency code that the local police have doesn’t work either and we are heading home and my friend will not be able to make his trip tonight. I am not saying to band this owners business. I am suggesting that before you spend your hard earned money on this storage facility, you ensure these issues are remedied. ... Read more

This place came highly recommended . LOL. When i reserved my 10x10 foot storage space, they didn't tell me I had to go through a small door, then up some rickety wooden stairs onto the second floor, and then walk about a hundred feet down a narrow hallway. I had to find a new storage space as an emergency since I could not unload my furniture into this storage space they gave me. The place is dirty and unkept. The only reason I give any stars to this business was the exceptional customer service by the owner who refunded my money apologetically. I think they are going through some issues right now, but will not give up on them because of the good customer service. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Scotia Storage - 109 Freeman's Bridge Road include the following amenities: Indoor, 24 hour access, Drive-Up Access, Onsite Manager, Security Camera, Gate, Kiosk Available, Credit Cards Accepted, Multi-Level Storage and Online Payment. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
