What customers are saying

Read some helpful reviews of Public Storage at 72 Southern Blvd, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

Strongly recommend against using this company. I chose them specifically because of the Labor Day sale they were having. I was in a bind and closing on my house and had only 3 days to get my stuff into a space before closing. I work full time and couldn't get to the space to speak to someone in the office before the office closed so I used the QR code on the door to reserve a spot and start moving my stuff in that night. After finalizing, I realized that I had selected the much smaller sized unit in error. I immediately called the customer service number on the door and explained the situation and asked to have my unit upgraded. Mind you I was still sitting in the parking lot and did not even go through the gates to see the unit. The nasty customer service rep told me that I was no longer eligible for the Labor Day promotion because I was no longer considered a new customer and I would have to pay over $100 more than the listed sale price for the size I needed. I told her I was still a new customer and made an error and it should be honored and she refused. I asked to speak to a manager and she condescendingly said that I can talk to whoever I want but they're going to tell me the same thing. I got her to transfer me and the next person told me that she can cancel my unit but I'd still have to pay a $29 admin fee (for a unit I had for 10 mins if that) and that I am in fact no longer eligible for the promotion because my information was now in their database. I asked for the next higher up and she told me they won't get back to me for 24-48 hours, even though I'm closing on my house in less time than that. I left a message for the property manager that night and he got back to me next day. He told me that he can refund my card but I in fact would not be able to get the special pricing because the size I need isn't even available despite what the website and the original customer service rep said. He also told me that the admin fee is not refundable but told me he would put a message out to see if it could be waived. He did refund me but the total on my card was $89 and I was only refunded $21 (admin fee is $29 so the math is not adding up.) Moving is stressful and this company made it worse. Customer service is atrocious, property manager was as helpful as he can be but the structure of the business and their policies is disgraceful. I went to another storage unit up the block and had zero issues and it took me 10 minutes to secure a spot in the size I needed and got a promotional price that was cheaper than this train wreck of a business was offering. ... I recently stopped renting at this locker partly because of the drastic price increase and also partly due to moving. I was paying almost $400 a month to store some stuff at this place, which it is what it is, but when you start unpacking the things that were stored here and start finding mouse droppings, large dead bugs (of various types) and mold it becomes very alarming that they have the gall to charge that much and still have a ton of pests roaming about. I now have to wash an entire kitchen set of pots, pans, utensils, plates, cups, etc. because they were all covered in mouse droppings and dead bugs. And before you question me, no I didn't have any food or candles in my locker, I know that attracts them but I didn't have any of that stuff. I'm honestly very skeeved out and very happy I left. ... Super super frustrating to have been renting a unit here for less than a year and a half and to have had my rent increased twice already (first time was just a few months in which was very disheartening)...would not have rented here had I known I'd be paying almost $50 more in less than a year and a half after beginning my rental. Hope to find a more affordable option. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Public Storage - 72 Southern Blvd include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Elevators, First Floor Access, Multi-Level Storage and Online Payment. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 300 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Public Storage - 72 Southern Blvd start from $59 and can go up to $461 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
