This was my first time renting a self storage facility. The gentleman who helped me, I believe his name was Michael could not be more helpful. He made the process so easy in helping me figure out what size storage I needed, what to expect and how to use the facility. The facility is easy to get to and clean.I would recommend this location highly to anyone needing such a service ... Read more

Filthy, flooded, bugs unkept and totally unsecure This is absolute worst storage facility I've ever used. To start, the place is filthy. There's dust and dirt all over the place, in the units, on the walls and the floors. I dealt with it by trying to clean my unit as best as I could, but there's only so much you can do. SECURITY Security here is a joke. There isn't any. The vast majority of the units are plywood doors. Anyone with a hammer could just bang out a hole in the door and take your stuff. Also, there's two entranceways. The first one is fine but the gate on the west side of the place is broken half of the time. It's either stuck open or stuck closed. I've pulled up at 2am and the gate is wide open. And there's no lock on the west side door into the place, so literally anyone could just walk in and do what they want if they get through the gate, which has been stuck open countless times. There have actually been a few times I pulled up and someone's car got stuck behind the gate because it wouldn't open. The gate just doesn't work most of the time, leaving no security whatsoever. Your stuff isn't safe. FLOODING/LEAKY ROOF Their roof leaks in certain places. When there's a rainstorm, you can walk through the place and see puddles in some places. When it rains, you can see a giant puddle on the side by the gate coming out of a unit and leaking into two others. BUGS There's no climate control so during the summer, so it's hot and humid in there. As soon as the weather gets warmer, the place has centipedes all over and there's never any treatment done. I've opened my unit and watched 3-4 scurry like roaches with the lights on. I've seen them crawling on the floor around the place too. It's nasty. This is really the worst excuse for a storage facility. They don't fix anything and leave it in the worst shape. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE ... Read more

I went to the Mineola branch of Omega Self Storage May 17th, 2017. The agent lied and also tried to prevent me from reading the contract, and insisted on taking credit card data before showing the contract. The contract included a clause asserting that the value of all contents does not exceed $200, even though they also demanded extra money for insurance that was a minimum of $2000 coverage. They refused to make any change to their contract so I told them I cannot rent from them. They did not reverse the credit card transaction but instead claimed that they would eventually do so when a different person came in. I am therefore also reporting them to the fraud investigation department of my credit company. I went to a different self storage place later the same day and rented a space without any problems. ... Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Omega Storage - 99 East 2nd Street include the following amenities: Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Truck Rentals, Security Camera, Gate, Credit Cards Accepted, Multi-Level Storage and Online Payment. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 20 to 300 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Omega Storage - 99 East 2nd Street start from $80 and can go up to $699 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
