This storage facility is one of the most poorly run places I’ve ever seen. It feels completely abandoned by management — filthy, dark, and unsafe. The lighting inside barely works; after 7 p.m., the hallways look and feel like a Dexter Morgan crime scene. It’s pitch black, and I literally had to buy a headlamp just to see inside my unit. Security is a joke. The doors are always unlocked, the only real barrier is the front gate, and even that’s easy to bypass with a broken gate in the back. I heard people moving around late at night when I was the only recently parked car. Also cars sit there for years untouched — some with registrations that expired over a decade ago. The place has an unsettling vibe, like no one is watching or maintaining anything. Nothing is clean. I dropped a shirt on the ground of my unit, just from point of contact it had a layer of dust and dirt. There’s dead bugs everywhere. I’ve heard from other renters about rats in the facility, and the condition of the property makes that totally believable. Check other reviews. I even included an image of what that nightmare looks like, this was a photo taken around 8pm. I threw in an AI-generated large rat for storytelling purposes only, but it captures the feeling perfectly: like an army of rats could run the place better than the actual management. If you care about your belongings — or your safety — go anywhere else ... Read more

Trust and believe me-- do not rent there. I nearly never make negative reviews of businesses. I try to see both sides. But keep reading. I lost over $15,000 dollars storing things here... when their RAT ARMY ate my work clothes-- over a dozen silk, Hickey Freeman America cut work suits. It took 20 years to amass the White Collar overalls. English, Hong Kong tailored. I kept them as proof of the loss, with giant rat holes in them, covered in rat waste. iStorage offered NOTHING, except a smaller unit for the same price, which went up, inside the warehouse area, with dozens of rat trap there too. This is a RAT ZOO, with construction going on next door, which drives rodents wild too. The entire outside wing around my unit was wrecked by rats. No locks were left on the wing except mine, because I was states away. No heads up, no notice. Just a recognition that it happened when I came and asked. They had exterminator boxes everywhere around the empty units, and they completely admitted what happened, but said somehow the loss was on me. FOR WHAT THE HELL ARE WE PAYING? May as well keep your things in a open field. Rats pissed and pooped all over everything. It was literally a HAZMAT cleanup for me-- gloves, masks, bleach, vinegar, pounds of paper towels-- ALL OF WHICH YOU CAN'T PUT IN TRASH THERE-- THERE IS NO TRASH. NOT FOR MONEY. YOU HAVE TO DRIVE OUT AND FIND TRASH, OR HIRE A DUMPSTER. Rats even ate Dad's vintage WW2 48 star Flag. A woman next to my unit sued them. I was offered nothing but a form, with a bizarrely low dollar limit of liability-- despite their negligence (hiring exterminators after the fact). Price tags are still on many of the suits. I can show over $15k damages. They don't care. They wait to get sued and point to their one sided rental contract of adhesion. When I moved out, they pre-billed me on the 26th and charged for the following month. So, forget moving before the 1st of a month. The call center in Metro Manila listened patiently, and did not refund me my pro rated rent. They don't pro-rate, because.. you know-- nobody figured out Microsoft Excel yet... or simple crime of gloming revenue as people leave. They kept the entire month's rent. They raised my rent 2 times. ... it started low because, well, RATS. But ramped right up. But wait, there more! It has no bathrooms-- locked all the time, unless workers need to go. I went to the office and I was told "it isn't flushing".... so, get ready to get in your truck, fully loaded with stuff in the back, to use a bathroom off site if you have to go. And best of all-- you will not be able to pitch anything in the trash-- it's locked, and customers don't have trash priv. No trash, even if THEIR INFESTATIONS of RAT PROBLEMS DESTROY ANYTHING IN YOUR UNIT because "it's a you problem". Sorry not sorry. You'd be better off donating everything to any agency that will take it than trying to cope with them. Other places may be more expensive, but I'm pretty sure they aren't petting zoos for Mickey Mouse rotten cousins. ... Read more

Renting a storage unit for the first time and Kerri was very helpful and personable, Front Desk/Property Manager, taking me on a tour of the unit answering all my questions and sharing some information on questions I didn't think to ask. Went over for the first time since renting the unit and it was super easy to access the building using my code even during hours with the office being closed. Very quite but yet still easy to get to if your in the Middletown area being right by the back entrance to the Galleria Mall. Prices are very reasonable as I went to a couple other storage places in the area to compare. So far so good think it will be a great spot to store my things while I'm transitioning between living situations. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at iStorage - 295 Ballard Road include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, 24 hour access, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Multi-Level Storage, Online Payment and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 40 to 400 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by iStorage - 295 Ballard Road start from $99 and can go up to $597 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
