I already had one unit reserved, but I decided I should get a larger one before move-in. So I went in and was VERY impressed with how the staff treated me! They patiently showed me different units and worked through pricing that matched my budget. Big shout out to Martin, Marquez, and Angie! They were all very thorough and genuinely cared that I was getting what I needed. Thank you! ... Read more

Great place overall. Convenient location, easy access, and there is usually parking available, which is a big plus. The units are clean, well maintained, and easy to use. Everything is organized and straightforward. Good storage option, would recommend. ... Read more

Fast and wonderful service. Shoutouts to David for walking us through the process and helping us get a storage space the day before we moved our stuff in. He was very helpful and we appreciated him showing us the space so we could make an informed decision. Thanks for the storage! ... Read more

Terrible service I’ve been trying to get a refund (since September 14, 2025) for an unit that I stopped using a day after my payment was due (September 13th). We handed the keys and one of the male agents assured us we will get a refund (and get charged for 1 day only). We have called 4 times and the manager is “never on site”. We also emailed the store manager 12 days ago and also no reply. A lady on the phone (which I didn’t know was the actual manager Noelia) told me to call on a Friday after 4pm!!? And today I spoke with J to tell me she works at 8 in the morning. What are you playing? In this digital age, a phone call back or an email response should be the least they can do. Should I just dispute with my credit card company and leave a 1 start review or file a complaint to the NYC Department of Consumer Protection to get her attention???. So unprofessional manager Noelia. ... Read more

Do not store at this location. Check out the storage next door. The facility has been unavailable for most of the month of July. They "reopened" and there is construction equipment and workers (wearing respiratory masks). It smells like mold and concrete dust, which can't be good for the storage contents. The ladders to access second-level units were unavailable. They did not offer a refund, rebate, nor extend to my lease. It's starting to feel like a scam. ... Read more

It's a great place in Northern Manhattan to store your things in. I only wished one of their employees had advised me that you need to press down on the gate to your unit, at the bottom, to be able to shutter or close the gate, without the sliding bolt getting kinda stuck. Lack of being told or warned resulted in a minor injury to my index finger. ;-( ... Read more

Safe. Clean. The storage unit was a good size. And the staff was extremely professional, helpful, respectful, and real. Good people. Real good people. Choosing CubeSmart out of all the possible options in NYC, especially during an important and challenging time in my life with me needing to relocate on short notice, made the difference. I am grateful for CubeSmart. ... Read more

Where to start: this is a terrible company. When I moved in I was told that while the rate might go up, I would always have a discount. Within two months the rate went up and the discount was removed. When their credit card system couldn’t take payments for days, I was charged a late fee. When I called to discuss these issues, the staff hung up on me. Needless to say, I have emptied my unit. ... Read more

The service has been pretty good up until I noticed and my grandmothers art piece was missing during my move out. At first I was told that they are not liable because after the move out I did not put the lock back on afterwards. Then they claimed they created an incident report but did not take a picture of my unit nor did they give me a copy of the incident report. Be very careful about valuables and document everything with pictures and lists ... Read more

CubeSmart at 308 Dyckman Street in Upper Manhattan is an outstanding location if you are looking for a storage facility. My husband and I moved to this site from another storage company and can't be more pleased. The staff, Nohely and Karla are friendly, helpful and enjoy their jobs and always have a smile. The facility is immaculate. The restrooms are as clean or cleaner than those in a hospital. I recommend CubeSmart on Dyckman street to anyone looking for a storage facility. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Manhattan Mini Storage - 302 Dyckman Street include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Parking, Multi-Level Storage and Online Payment. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
