I am renting a unit in the climate controlled building on 46 Norton St. The facility is new, and everything is pristine. Area is well lit. At least my unit does not have a light, but the motion sensing hall light is quite bright and covers the interior well. I know the other reviews say it and its true - Sara is great to work with and very helpful (and no, she did not ask me to write this - but she deserves it). ... Read more

I can’t say enough good things about Sarah at Honeoye Falls Storage. She was absolutely awesome — patient, friendly, and genuinely cared about making sure everything went smoothly for me. She took the time to answer all my questions and made the whole process stress-free. It’s rare to find customer service this good these days, and I truly appreciate how well she took care of me. Highly recommend! ... Read more

This is the best place that I have ever used for storage. I loved that it is gated and you can only enter with a pass-code. When you call the office, the woman on the other end of the phone is the sweetest person. I can't recommend this place enough. You won't be disappointed ... Read more

We rented a large unit at the corner of Norton and High Street starting in June 2022 as the place was just being constructed. We were one of the very first to occupy and just vacated the unit November of 2024. I am rating 4 stars because of the initial experience (explained at end if interested) we had getting into the unit, but otherwise am very satisfied with the place (obviously since we kept it nearly 2 1/2 years!). The customer service (after our initial suboptimal experience) is excellent and the unit performed very well. No issues with water or pest intrusion. The only improvement I would suggest is a better lighting situation for nighttime use. Terminating the rental was simple and hassle free. I’m not one to dwell on the negative - especially when the situation has improved - but since I’m rating 4 instead of 5 stars I will explain the initial experience. Since the units were still under construction, there were no numbers but the person I spoke with explained they would put a note on the unit so we could find it. We pulled into the lot driving our RV and towing a trailer with our belongings. I walked around the buildings and found the labeled unit. It was located on a side where construction materials were blocking access such that we’d have to drive around the corner of the building where the driveway was very narrow and back out the same way to exit - no space to be able to turn around and drive forward to exit. We were driving our RV and towing a U-Haul with our belongings and knew we couldn’t maneuver the corner in reverse without getting stuck. I called the office and left a message (it was after hours) that we couldn’t get into the unit assigned because of the exit being blocked and that we had to unload that night in order to return the U-Haul. We picked an empty unit on the front side of the building and unloaded. We knew it was larger than the one we had rented, but accepted that we’d be paying more and moved forward. I took pictures and also emailed them with an explanation after we were done. The next day I called to follow up and make sure the business was aware of the change so that our contract could be updated. The person (I later learned was the owner) was extremely rude and explained they were out walking their dog had watched the whole time we were struggling and said that we should’ve taken the unit assigned (no explanation why they didn’t walk over to talk to us and help). I responded that - since they witnessed the scene, it should’ve been obvious that the way out was blocked and that we wouldn’t have been able to reverse out of the backside due to the narrow corner and having a trailer. The person insisted the materials were not in the way (even though I sent pictures) and that even so we should’ve been able to reverse out. This person continued to be rude about the fact that we took a different unit, that it was larger than the original one we had rented(even though they’re getting more money), that we’d have to update the contract, etc. Maybe this person was having a bad day. In any case - that experience is why I held back a star. Ownership must’ve changed because a few months after that initial experience the customer service was completely different and the person I worked with going forward was always very friendly and helpful. ... Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Honeoye Falls Self Storage - 1162 Rochester Street include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, 24 hour access, Drive-Up Access, Onsite Manager, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Keyless Unit Access and Online Payment. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 50 to 200 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Honeoye Falls Self Storage - 1162 Rochester Street start from $54 and can go up to $137 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
