So far so good, pricing was great but who knows if it will stay that way. I will update the review if anything changes Update: Rep on phone didnt even ask me my move in date just rushed to get my payment. Got it all paid up to lease the unit and now my unit is an 10x8 but in the back left theres a big ol' pillar in the worst possible spot for me to have an easy load in. Was pressed for time at that point so I just had to throw everything in and hope it all fit. It luckily fit but during all that, I couldnt contact anyone at all, the instructions given to me as a renter were subpar at the very best. And now I still cant even contact anyone to address the issue. They want to relocate me and I already paid for uhaul and was ready to move in a day ago and now I would have to move everything I own all by myself because they wanted to save money on design and sell people lockers with weird shapes and pillars. Not happy. Someone call me and address my issue. I've tried calling four times and your AI assistant is useless (shocker) They offered me 25 dollars to move all my stuff over to a new locker which is the biggest insult ever. Am I supposed to use the 25 dollars to pay a homeless man to help me move all my stuff now? After I already had a planned day to move my stuff there, had people to help etc. So because you guys cut corners engineering your storage building and put a giant fire retardent pillar at the roof of my unit that gets on all my stuff and drips dust onto all my belongings; I deserve to get paid 25 measly dollars to move all my stuff to a new locker in order to appease myself and actually be happy with this place? HAH. Not to mention apparently theres a bathroom there? (I wouldnt know no one told me.) And the carts are sometimes missing and being used and hogged by a random electrician that works out of there. This place is horrible I wish I picked any other storage place. Update #2 Rep named Danielle actually helped and I just sucked it up and moved all my stuff over and they gave me 50 whole bucks which is unfair in my opinion because it took me hours. But thats what happened so im content now. They should be transparent about pillars and changes in dimensions to their customers. ... Read more

We were in a pinch trying to empty out a house for sale in an area where street are too tight for a container delivery and local storage facilities would not allow us to use them for a transfer. Snapbox at this location had just opened for business with Angel in charge. He rented us two storage rooms and allowed us to transfer one to a travel container with a small van. Angel was very helpful and accommodating. I would definitely work with Snapbox and Angel again. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Snapbox Self Storage - 42 Hayes Street include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, First Floor Access, Multi-Level Storage and Online Payment. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 300 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Snapbox Self Storage - 42 Hayes Street start from $53 and can go up to $598 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
