I would have never thought it could be this easy and hassle free to get a unit same day. I decided to move a few things into a small unit …short term, while reorganizing. This is the first time I’ve ever rented a storage unit. Their website gives you a walk through, as well as photos… I didn’t see that on any of the others site. The customer service representative that walked me through the process was fantastic! She was friendly, knowledgeable, and patient while I asked all of my questions. Thanks again Jacque!!
I thought I’d be able to write another review specifically for Robin. Jacque was excellent when I originally signed up and rented the unit. . This time , let’s just say.. I called more than a little frustrated with a couple of concerns and questions regarding a price increase. Robin went above and beyond answering as many questions as she could. She made me feel confident that my concerns will be addressed upon receipt of the notes that she was taking. I truly appreciate her help and wish that I could write her review, without being an add-on to the previous one. I’d also like to thank Elyja at the Elmsford location. Earl at SecureSpace Self Storage was awesome. If there was a way to give him 10 Stars I would do so. He has a gentle demeanor and was very helpful in helping me to secure the correct size of storage bin I would need. He didn’t just help with securing the space, he assisted us in moving the contents and packing them into the space and might I add, in the pouring rain.

I'm giving this review for the exceptional staff here. They were helpful from day one with Mr. Earl going above board helping me on moveout day. I had been living in London and they never failed to alert me by emails, texts, and calls of upcoming bills, late fees and increases. I just moved in about 10
Days ago, and the building was clean, easy to access and the trolleys they have made my move super easy. Elijah, the manager on site was very friendly and helpful. So far, so good.
The one issue I had was in the contract/pricing. I was offered 2 months at half price, but was only given 1.5 months because I moved in mid-month. I was told by customer service that their months started on the first, and not when you sign your contract. So, you only get a full two months if you move in on the 1st of the calendar month. This seems like a strange and slightly deceptive policy as this isnt mentioned in the initial deal. ... Read more

If I could give zero stars I would. I am currently a customer and I always pay my bill on time. No issues. I'm in the process of moving and needed an additional unit. I opened a 10X10 unit online on Saturday 10/5 with the current promotion 50% off two months. I drove to the unit to place some items and I noticed the new unit was on Floor 6 and my existing Unit was on Floor 5. I later noticed the unit two units down from my unit was available. So I immediately went to the office and asked the person at the desk if they could please transfer my unit from Floor 6 to Floor 5 because it's next to my existing unit. I explained I just opened in online 20 minutes ago. At first it was a direct NO! Then he proceeded to tell me could switch me because the first unit was a 10X10 and the new unit is 11X15. After making the switch he then tells me I owe an additional charge of $117.59. I asked him why did I had to pay the additional charge when it's just a transfer and I already paid online. He told me because the new unit is bigger. I did not realize the difference in size, as the larger units look similar in size (10x10 vs 10X15). I told him to please include the 50% for two months and I would pay the difference $25 or so. He told me he could not do that but he would let his manager know. So I asked not to be charged again, until we had the charge amount cleared up. He proceeded to repeat multiple times if I did not pay the difference today-I would be charged a late fee. Please make this make sense. So I told him do not charge my card. I will reach out to the manager tomorrow. Low and behold on Monday someone charged my card $117.59 without my consent. I spent three days calling but no one answered the phone. Finally, today someone answered and introduced herself as the manager. I explained the long story and simply asked if she could apply the 50% promotion for two months because the unit was transferred on the same day within a short timeframe and she told me NO. She said I was only entitled to use the 50% promotion one time and I used it when I opened the box online. I explained that I transferred that box, so in the end I never got the 50% promotion. Again she told me no. She told me she would call me back but never did. She was rude, nasty and unprofessional. I am so disappointed in the service and overall feeling of disgust. I did not ask for a FREE unit. I already paid for it. I would NEVER recommend this storage facility to my friends, family or coworkers. It's horrible! Shop around they have other storage units down the road and I'm sure the service will be much better. I am also filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

I would not recommend Secure Space Storage. The price increases are steep and happen without much warning, making it hard to budget. When I tried to speak with an employee about why the rent keeps going up, they had no clear answers and didn’t seem knowledgeable about company policies. On top of that, if you decide to move out in the middle of a month, they don’t prorate your rent—so you end up paying for time you’re not even using. BAIT SWITCH PRICING- EXPECT A SUDDEN PRICE HIKE.
SECURED SPACE IS NOT SECURE IN PRICE, EXPECT TO AFFECT YOUR EXPENSES BUDGET TO GO UP!!!
I got this storage space because the staff is really nice, and it is generally indication of the corporation policy. However, their policy is to incentive the renters with purpose to price hike far more than the expected budget.
I expected to pay at agreed price. Promotion is nice, but everyone knows is temporary. What I signed up for jumped in price hike by 50% more than what I expected within 4 months- started at $208/ month then it price jumped to $308!!
WHY DO PEOPLE NEED STORAGE SPACE?
Do people keep garbage in storage space? No.
Can it be like an extension of your HOME? Absolutely.
Is it an expense part of a budget? Absolutely.
Is choice depend on your budget? Absolutely.
Do you want your rent, mortgage, car payments suddenly go up suddenly? No!!!!
So all of that considered, 50% PRICE HIKE as soon as you normalize your overall living expenses is OUTRAGEOUS.
OPTIMUM IS BAD, BUT THIS PLACE BEATS OPTIMUM.
Month to month is nice because it provides an Opt-Out.
But, there are people who have sentimental things, use storage for number of reasons and even duration-- out of need.
Like many, I am on fixed income. This was an extension of my HOME and calculated with budget accordingly.
And I intended to remain a customer for 2 years minimum, consistent with my rental lease. A budget is always a consideration.
The advertisement shows again, that the price of the same size is much lower than mine.
I asked to cost adjust back to where it was, or adjust it to what is currently being offered ( which is similar or slightly lower than my expected agreed starting price). I think that is reasonable. And I would rather price lock and put it on auto pay, than be surprised with a coal in my Christmas stocking.
They refused. They rejected a good faith negotiation.
The same sized unit on the same floor is less than mine and they cannot price adjust?
In short, Secured Storage will price hike and manipulate your life, but expect a SKY ROCKET PRICE HIKE.
MISREPRESENTATION gone too far.
Bottom line is, Secured Storage corporate policy do not appreciate their customers, nor consider the type of customers. Rate lock it for customers like me ( with high credit score and solid payment history) and negotiate.

The Customer Service there is impeccable. I have never been to a storage company that is so community based.. They work with you they help you to select a secure unit for your Pacific needs. We were originally going to use another storage facility but were unhappy about the price there and decided last minute to check out other facilities in the area. Came across here and within less than 24 hours- I was able to get a unit online, confirm with the facility on the phone the next morning and move in without problem. The front desk person (I believe his name was Elijah?) was extremely helpful and very nice to work with. Cracked a few jokes here and there as well while bringing us to our unit. The unit itself was clean, spacious and air temp controlled. All in all - great experience.
The one thing I am slightly frustrated with is that when you book online- they don’t allow for an option to opt out of a lock fee when you already possess a lock. It said on there that you can be refunded if you have one but I’ve yet to be refunded. It would simply be easier to add another option to opt out on the intake form. Will have to follow up again. For almost a year, I'm been charged for an insurance that It was never mentioned to me and when I moved my things out and returned the unit I was still charged even after going in person and told by the desk employee that it would be cancel to avoid a next month charge. Poor attention to customers' needs and money hungry it's what I see from this company. The fact that new customers get better rates and bigger units and loyal customers don't doesn't sit well with me. Shouldn't it be the other way around? Nice rental space but on two occasions there was no one in office an hour after they opened. I had to wait over an hour each time for someone to arrive. It is also a long wait if they are changing a lock for someone. I needed a lock change, guy in office told me that they would do it, but I had to wait a few minutes for his co worker to return. After waiting 30 min, the co worker refused to change my lock saying I needed to make an appointment a day in advance. They were not busy at all. I was the only customer. So I explained how I was leaving town, and needed it changed, he asked where I was going, like it was his business, and finally, after another 30 minutes of me asking, he finally agreed to replace the lock. BEWARE! This storage space gets you in at a low price then hikes up the rent soon after.
I signed up to rent a unit for $42/month (cost after the 1/2 off first 2 months promo). Four months later, my rent was increased to $77. A few months later, I needed a larger unit so I had my boyfriend rent a different unit at $147/month (again, cost after the 1/2 off first 2 months promo). And like clockwork exactly four months later, the rent was increased to $200+.
It’s clear to me this is normal operating procedure for them which I consider to be a pretty scummy business practice. If you are at all tight on funds and think you're getting a good "deal", be very careful about renting a unit here. ... Read more
