What customers are saying

4.8/5 - 1730 Reviews

Read some helpful reviews of Extra Space Storage at 3240 Bronx Blvd, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

I feel deceived by this company. I chose this place because I thought it was affordable compared to U-Haul and other locations. I am currently in a homeless shelter and got this unit for a price of $158 then it rose 168. After 3 months I get a postcard stating that it will go up $100. An extra $100 a month if not affordable especially in this economy. This place is predatory. I can get a raising a unit 10 $20 you got a whole $100. This place is not even open 24 hours. Despite the hours again I decided to go with this place because it was affordable. Now online I see bigger units that are cheaper than what they are charging me for my current unit which makes no sense. People are struggling right now and to raise prices that dramatically is predatory. Please be aware of an extra charge after 3 months. Now I have to scramble to figure out what to do and I don't have an extra $100 for a storage unit. Thank you extra space for screwing me over Also please look at the reviewers reviewing this place because most of them only have one review under their belt ... Read more

Although I secured the unit, I never moved in due to it not meeting acceptable standards. Additionally, due to unforeseen personal circumstances, I was unable to notify the facility until 16 days after the scheduled move-in date to communicate that I would no longer be taking possession and wished to cancel any ongoing charges. I understand that your policy may state that refunds are not typically issued after a certain timefrsme, and I respect that. However, I believe a partial refund would be reasonable and fair in this case, given that the unit was never used or occupied. I also made sure to communicate my cancellation once I was able to do so. This experience has been disappointing, and I feel that retaining the full amount under these circumstances does not reflect good customer service. I kindly ask that you reconsider and process a partial refund. ... Read more

The front desk person, Jorge, was extremely helpful. Showed me my locker, how to work the elevator and the back entrance and loading dock. He even helped me pushed my cart. The facility needs some serious upgrades. I’m on the second floor, and There’s a little ramp I have to push my cart up just to get to the elevator to the second floor. I’m not a fan of the ramp. The elevator is a manual Elevator and even the carts could be better. The facilities are really what is most concerning, but for the price, it’ll do for now. The online sign up was simple, but they force you to buy their $30 lock, have a one time admin fee, and you also have to budget in monthly storage insurance that is required unless you have your own. The keyhole to my door is not aligned, so the bulky lock I was forced to buy is a hassle. They have an app you can use to open the doors, but honestly, memorizing my code and entering it is faster. Luckily they give a code that has some parts of your own info making it easy to remember. I gave the place 3 stars because although the service is great (shout out to Jorge at the front desk and the phone attendant who answered my questions), the facilities need to be upgraded and I shouldn’t be forced to buy their lock. You can return the lock before opening it according to the phone attendant but it should just be made optional to begin with online. The lighting in the hallways could also be better. Compared to my previous storage facility I would call this one dingy and archaic. ... Read more

I would have given this place 5 stars because Jorge and the rest of the staff is amazing. They really make the difference in this place. Now that extra 2 stars are gone because the building is OLD!!! It’s too easy to get lost in there since there are absolutely no maps throughout the building. The unit isn’t even fully coved most of the time letting your things be exposed from the top. You see and hear pigeons all in the building. Make sure you get the insurance for the real amount because the doors are wood!! Lol. Some even damaged. I really only come here because Jorge makes this place manageable to store here. It’s not temperature regulated which is the worst for items to store in this location for long. It should be much cheaper honestly. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Extra Space Storage - 3240 Bronx Blvd include the following amenities: Indoor, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Truck Rentals, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Credit Cards Accepted, Elevators, Multi-Level Storage and Online Payment. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 20 to 224 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Extra Space Storage - 3240 Bronx Blvd start from $80 and can go up to $576 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
